I think it's really unjust! There was a poll recently (possibly on Sky) and the consensus was that 90% of people believed that whatever governing body controls this (sorry, I don't pay much attention) has a almost total bias against men... I wonder if this would ever change, it would have to at some stage??
Hey, go scale the side of the BeeHive, and refuse to budge!

Not soon, given that CSL's view is dominant in the current legislature.Originally Posted by StoneChucker

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I agree - the men out there who pay up seem to get a pretty raw deal. I get the feeling you're getting penalised for all the assholes who sow their seed then bugger off. But even worse, when circumstances change and the man ends up with custody of the children, the mother gets off very lightly. I have a friend who has been paying a small fortune for his two kids. Now his son has moved in with him, but they won't let him reduce his payments, so he is even further out of pocket to enable his son to live with him. WTF???Originally Posted by StoneChucker

These guys must need to be really careful crossing the road....
The best ones leave and work as tax accountants. The hopeless bastards stay.
Recently the retiring boss of the Australian equivalent of the IRD apologised to the small taxpayers, they get no leeway at all. The guys at the big end of town can't find anything, can't remember anything and nobody at the IRD wants to rock the boat. The small guys get screwed to the max.
There is a guy Mike Smith working in Wellington for one of the big name accountancy firms. He is good but he won't be cheap. But then can you afford cheap?

Riff raff --thats not right --If the child is living with him you need to lodge a change of circumstances form -your payments are recalculated based upon wheather its full time custody or just part time.Originally Posted by Riff Raff
Me Im screwed anyhow i look at it-If i want my son Then I can't apply for it or the ex will just enforce the custodial parent arangement we agreed to.

As a result, there's a very good chance I'll need to sell the bike to feed and cloth myself. Amazing! Did you know, that a 29 year old male is supposed to house, feed and basically survive on $12K a year?

$12K is what IRD allow you to earn for yourself before they start calculating the amount you must pay.
