I have quite a good relationship with all my surgeons. I was kept on the triage list for shoulder rebuild after I rebroke shoulder rearranging furniture I was on the waiting list...but got in with 24 hours notice at someone elses cancelation. I had to wait 2 weeks in Hamilton for grafts...that gave me the shits. Everyday I would be waiting ready to go ..and someone else was fired in ahead of me. (Burns unit- Poor souls) Wouldnt have been so bad if I could move. Im still in the system. I cant complain at the level of care I have received. I can complain about the food tho..EWWW.

Heres a tip I learnt many years ago. If you see the specialist privately...then he puts you on the public waiting list, It cuts your waiting time down by %50. Its worked for me on a few occasions. Best result I had thus far was 18months wait down to 3 weeks.
