Have an early 80's DR that wont spark. threw a new battery on it theres power to the lights/ign etc
Try to kick it into life but it wont start.

Took the plug out (brand new) and placed it on the head and kicked it a few times and it wasn't producing a spark. Have had the coil checked and am told its fine.
anyone suggest my next step?
I saw the bike run approx a year ago (it's the brother in laws) and after about 15 mins of running it would die and not start again. Thats all the history I really have on it.
Any help would be appreciated
