I'm now over 33000km on my 2006 GT250 with no problems since the warrenty ran out
gw555 is now over 80000km on his 2006 GT250 also with no problems.

That being said, I did have a number of issues in the first few months, but all were covered under the warrenty.
I finally got my knee down! …and my shoulder …and my pillion’s head.

I think once everything happens once and the problem is fixed it should be fine

My first Hyosung was a bit of a P.O.S - bike didn't like going into neutral (unless I was on the motorway of course, then it didn't have a problem) fork seals kept blowing, gearbox in general felt clunky, fuel gauge didn't work.

My second one has been a lot better. Besides replacing the battery, and a slight rattle in the baffle, it's fine. Sounds like you may have just got a lemon. Good idea with the new chain though - the stock Hyosung chains and sprockets are not the greatest.

Compare Hyo's to a Hyundai 1.3 litre car I reckon.
Not super fast, not super build quality, but will get ya from a A to B.
They're an entry level begginers bike, and for what they are, are pretty good value for money me thinks.

my hyo did 10000km with no major problems. It broke a clutch cable and rear brake master cylinder needed replacing and chain and sprockets. Otherwise it went everywhere, started everytime and did what was expected of it.

I just got one and so far am loving it had a fxr150 which was boring as ive only done 700km so far but wanna tweak it up a bit, air intake, exhaust n carbs rejet. What sort of probs have you guys been having with the gt250r?

I think I may have spoken a little too soon. Over the last couple of weeks the bike has been making this horrible rattling noise at random intervals when riding. Very loud and VERY irritating. A friend of mine who is a mechanic checked out the front cylinder (as we thought this may have been where the noise was coming from) and that was all sweet so we eventually had to cut open the exhaust and see if we could find anything rattling around in there, but still, nothing.

Eventually we pulled out and looked into the front header pipe. The thing with the Hyosungs is that there is not just one straight through pipe from the header pipe into the exhaust - there is actually two pipes, one inside the other. This is apparently older technology as older bikes used to use two pipes to stop the outside pipe from heating up too much and turning blue. We noticed when looking down the header pipe that the internal pipe had cracked and split right around, not far down from where the pipe connects to the front cylinder. The noise was the two bits of pipe jarring together where the split was, so in order to fix it we had to drill a hole in the outer pipe and weld the inner pipe to the outer one which secured it.

This finally solved the problem - I am so relieved as that noise was beginning to drive me nuts. I hope this may come in handy to someone in the future who may have this problem. Not serious or potentially damaging but just f*&$ing irritating!!!!!

good to know man, have you, or anyone else had any other probs? im wondering if debaffling the muffler, rejetting the carbs, increasing the air intake and cutting the wire in the cdi, will lead to voiding my hyosung warranty? ive talked to they guy at the shop and he reckons its ok but has anyone here had any voided warrantys due to mods? cheers
