You poor, sad, deluded people. Everyone knows that Valentine's Day is just another commercial rip-off, invented by American retailers in order to extort more cash from hapless consumers. Don't be sucked in - next thing you know, you'll be flashing the plastic for Easter and Mother's Day and Halloween and all the other excuses for making rich businessmen richer.
I could say more, but I gotta go now. The wife has just flashed me THAT LOOK...
Anyone know of a florist open this time of night?

And, Christmas too - as my mate Peter will attest:

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I thought it was invented by the Romans and commercialised by the Americans (who else? )?
