Talking NewB from afar - Catte Strophe

    Hello All,

Okay just to introduce myself, I am currently based in the UK looking to move with Family and Bikes to Christchurch area around Easter time. I am old and have ridden Bikes for about 26 years now.
Currently riding Buell X1 Lightning Millenium edition, had for about 4 years imported from the US and coming with me to NZ. In addition I have a Honda GL1000 1978 that I have recently spent a fortune on again this will be coming with me. Had the GL for about 3 years (Moneypit)..

I hope it is okay to land on here as a Brit and hope to enjoy some scratching round NZ in the near future.

Wish you all a happy Christmas and or Festive period whatever floats your boat.

Welcome! (it's still ok to say christmas period over here...lol)

    Welcome, Mr Strophe!

Good on ya for bringing both bikes with you! A good move financially if you can make room in a container for them.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

The Bikes were the first items calculated within the trailer after that you can put anything you want in there, my only instructions to the wife..
looking forward to getting out and settled hopefully Easter time.

Hi OG, the plan is to be out there by Easter time, hoping to have more info and location tied down by the end of Feb.

Just spent a fortune on the GL, as she had been missing out on the TLC she needs to keep her in good fettle and expensive lesson to me.

Does anyone have and Idea on who in NZ can give me an estimate on value of my bikes as I need to give one for the Container people.. Will ask in the main forum just as back up.

    Have a look on Trademe.co.nz
This site is used by the dealers to get "market value" of bikes.
The advanced search function will allow you to search expired auctions (sales completed, or auctions that did not meet resreve price).

Ah nice to see a Pom with taste... you can bring your X1 over here, not a problem! We will do our best to take care of it for ya
Oh the GL can come along as well.
And trademe probably is a good place to get aproximate estimates.

Welcome and we may catch up sometime after you get here.
