I'm not really 100 (close though...)
The vifferbabe started the day by telling me off, because I had a shit night's sleep, due to serious toothache, so I wasn't happy when I woke up. At 12:05am, and at 5am...

In fact, historical and other data suggests that Jesus was probably born in October. The December thing is just a transmogrification of the pagan Yuletide / Winter Solstice celebrations.
    But you knew that...

Sometimes separate, sometimes combined, and (lately) pretty much none.
This time I got a rude t-shirt from #1Son, emphasising my oldness, and a trial microlight flight voucher from the vifferbabe.

So the party starts this morning and goes until midnight tomorrow????
Heh - that'd be fun! No parties for me. The vifferbabe did ask if I wanted a big...uh... demicentennial... celebration... but I couldn't be bothered. Besides, it'd be no fun with just me, her, and #1 Son (the other two are buggering off to a BBQ this afternoon), and I don't exactly have bazillions of friends. Surprising, huh?
No, I'm at work now, then tomorrow'll be rather hectic, as we have to conjure up Christmas dinner before rushing off to the airport to fly to San Francisco.
    ... and that's what I think.

That sounds almost Eggs Zachary like the t-shirt #1 Son had printed - did you put him up to it?

Ahh! That reminds me - last time we went to SF (two years ago yesterday!), there was a guy on the Mrkn VFR forum who worked in the Cheescake Factory who said to visit him. Wunner if he still works there....

This time we're gunna do all the things we forgot or didn't know about last time: Knob Hill, Chinatown (only skirted the edge of it last time, but our hotel is next to the gates), MOMA, Golden Gate Park (we were right next to it, and didn't know it was there!!), mebbe Alcatraz, and mebbe some festive... nocturnal activity ... (difficult when sharing a room with one of the troglodytes every night).

Birthday cake that doubles as Christmas cake? Where's the justice?

Have an awesome birthday - and a great trip away - I'll just settle for riding around the east cape and camping lol.

    Thanks Adele - very pretty!

Thanks MyGSXF! I'll try to - just hope my brain behaves. If I stay semi-inebriated most of the time, I should be OK.

    Thanks BMW! Enjoy your trip!

Thanks Brett. In this case, the birthday cake is doubling as a birthday cake (taking any leftovers home, since the fambily didn't bother with one),

Heh... #1 Son wanted me to buy the Frankensteinian Meatcreation they made at work for Xmas: the Turducken.
They boned a turkey, stuffed it with cranberry stuffing and a boned duck, which they stuffed with chestnut and summat stuffing and a boned chicken, which they stuffed with sage and onion stuffing (no quails left in stock).
They dreamed up the ultimate extension of this, which involved a lamb, goat, pig, cow, camel, hippo, and elephant, which were mostly not in stock.
So, they refined their Turducken in when they sold the other one, and left the turkey's wings and drumsticks on, then the duck's head and neck, which they then stuck out of the turkey's sutured-up neck hole for a bizarre appearance.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    A very happy birthday Viff!

I believe that there are a couple of wine places around San Fran. It all sounds good though... like the gateaux!
