The problem is japan/china will be lining up to supply aid, get the whaling vote and attempt to establish a presence in the south pacific. Not such a good outlook. But you know, accoridng to comrade clark, we live in a strategically benign environment (timor, solomans, fiji, indonesia) and there are no submarines in the south pacific.
