    Question Surface rust removal?

    Hi all.

I just picked up my new (to me) Honda VTR 250 yesterday.

It is in really good condition, except there is some surface rust on the metal around the front forks on the metal clamp that attaches it to the frame (if you know the proper name for this, please enlighten me).

The metal has quite a bumpy surface, so I don't think sanding would do any good. What would your recommendations for the best way to go about removing this be?

I'm thinking I might try and use a scotch-brite pad and maybe some jif to start off with and see whether that makes any difference.

    Thanks in advance

scotchbrite or steelo is what i use on the light stuff, i use autosol instead of jiff(although it does have a place on my work bench), just remember to dry it straight after and get something on it like 808 silocon etc to stop the rust coming straight back.

    steeringhead clamp i think

Bollocks, get of your arse and go get it
