Recommended track days?

Just sold the GN250 and got myself an old 91' ZZR600. Missus has said I can have a trackday as my Christmas present. As I live up in Auckland,Pukekohe would probably be most conveniet track. Can anybody who has done any trackdays there or Taupo recommend who,what ,when etc ?
Little nervous though after a fellow work colleague took himself out recently and will now be residing in hospital for the next few weeks.

Forget Pukekohe and go to Taupo. Taupo is safer because it's got more run off and I think it's more fun since it's twistier.
Go to the MotoTT website and see which event suits you and email them to book a place. Looks like there might not be any suitable spots available until the 27th of February though.

There's also KiwiTrackDays, they have a Taupo track day on the 16th of January that might still have spots available.

I think MotoTT run a slightly friendlier trackday, they have people on lines bikes to follow, offer a bit more advice and scrutineer the bikes. Maybe a bit more beginner friendly.

KiwiTrackDays don't do scrutineering, I don't think they have lines bikes (to be honest, I haven't followed any lines bikes myself, but some people must find them useful), and I don't think they have as many people available to give advice. I'd say they have a more 'hands off' approach to track days. They do offer slightly more track time and a shorter wait between sessions as they have only 3 speed groups, whether you have enough energy at the end of the day to make use of the extra session(s) is another matter though .

If you're confident enough to ride on the open road, there's no need to be nervous on the track. Just ride at the speed you're comfortable with, ride predictably/smoothly so that people passing you don't have any trouble, that's pretty much it. Don't push yourself to ride faster than you're comfortable with, your speed will increase as you get used to it.

What Erik said ! Aint done puke but from what i've heard there is more concrete walls than grass ! Grass is good !!!!
Kiwi do have a couple of guys to show ya lines if ya wanted, but ya have to ask them (let them know you will be going slow or ya wont catch them)
Depends how much of a hurry your in as to which trackday to attend motott may have room on the 29th but thats only a half day (couple of sessions) kiwi may well still have spots on the 16th available ! Or you could put yaself on the wait list for motott and try to do both the 16th and 17th ! Then of course there is the triumph track day on the 18th at taupo as well, which is open to any bikes ! Ya could always try for all three days bwahahahahaha
