Before he went out we were all quite worried it was going to look a bit stupid, because the TRS cars arnt supposed to go that slow, and when they do, they bunny hop along and such, but since it was detuned etc for the occasion, it seemed to go around quite smoothly.

I can tell you Earl was keen as for some burnouts, doughy's etc etc, but if he did he risked not getting a permit from Motorsport NZ to do any demo runs in the future in A1GP car, shame really.

It was my first day ever attending bike racing and it was a interesting experience, you guys must be all mad to try that stuff!!
    Ahhh,
    Thanks for that.....
All I will say is in the esses he was pretty much bunny hopping.
The 4x4 has more body roll than Dawn French, and the Toyota just wanted to GO!
    It would have looked impressive....

What it did do was give me a great opportunity to get a birds eye view photo of the car.... something that was impossible with the bikes.... even Slighty and Stroudie doing their demos were too quick for the position I was in.... and I'm no professional photographer.

Anyhow samzbob, welcome to Kiwibiker, and I guess you have a new found respect for the leather clad fraternity.

Yep, we may be a little nuts, but my desire to get a post classic racer or something has been rekindled.... despite witnessing some very big offs....
    Let me remember:
Youshi, Gareth Jones, and Jason Narin. Hope all your bumps and bruises mend okay.

Also, the guy who left a huge scorch mark on the bales.... Very lucky!

Lovely shots, guys. Great to see all those, especially as I'm on the other side of the world. Thanks for posting them. Also, well done to all KBers who rode.

Oh for sure, usually watch the Moto GP on television, but it was my first live bike event, and what a blast it was, loved i think it was the classic sidecar, with the dude that gets it crossed up almost every corner, was great fun, Earl was saying he was like Wanganui's Burt Munroe and sleeps with his bike etc lol.

Totally different atmosphere trackside aswell, and will definately go along to some more events in future, was quite tempted to go to Taupo actually.

I think in terms of participating ill stick to being surrounded by roll cage and 4 wheels, but i really enjoyed watching the bikes.

I said to one of the riders and his swinger while they were checking out our car on the dummy grid, that theyre nuts, i just got a laugh for a reply!!

Also got a snap of Andrew Stroud after Earl left on his run

why is stroud doing a burnout on sherriffs bike?

That CBR looked stunning. I reckon he should slow down a bit so people can get a better look at him going past.

Definitely Slight. Looked like a street version of the bike too, complete with headlights and road numberplate and tail light holder etc, so presume it wasn't Shirrifs' bike (nor the Sherrif's bike - if there was such a person at Wanganui).
