    Glory days indeed!
Though Avant was a Kiwi boy from Chch and Goodfellow was a Canadian resident Kiwi . Others that rode included, Mortimer, Padgett, Hennen, Cooley, Lucchinelli(!), Willing, Hansford, Quincey, Sayle in then 70's and I remember seeing Rob Phillis at Wanga's in about 82 or 83. But yes, be good to see more guys

    sorry

Cheers for that dude. Strange as it may seem I am actually glad to hear it, and have a little more understanding of the incident.

Really was a weird feeling, one minute stable, the next bars slapping and high side. Time to check over the bike very carefully I think.

This sounds like the same spot where I nearly came off. But I think I lost the front, the bike started slapping and in general out of control. It was only luck I didn't crash. It was weird, I wasn't hard on the breaks or anything.

    Oil?

Interesting to hear that, mate. Maybe it was oil...were you slightly inside of the racing line that most adhere to approaching there?

I don't think it could have been white line for me, because by that stage of the day it was pretty warm and they weren't so much of a factor anymore I didn't feel...and like you, I wasn't that hard on the brakes
