Flat battery

so i left my lights on all night and my battery was flat this morning. attempted to bump start the bike, and i got it to turn over a couple times and the dash lit up but it wouldnt quite start. ive never had this problem before so i dont really know what to do about it. any advice?

You will need to put it on a charger for a few hours

You also might need to buy a new battery I have one thats completely fucked cause i left the "lights" on

that doesnt bode well seeing as all the bike shops are closed >.< i also do not have a charger or any power anywhere near my garage. do you know if its possible to jump start a bike off of a car?

Not recommended to much amps from the car battery you might screw the ecu

yea you can jump start a bike..however its best to run jumper lead to starter motor as it could overload general fuses if both leads are held straight to battery lugs... and it might not run correctly due to lack of battery level of power output..might cut out if using flashers, headlight,,,also note that general it would take a lot of normal running to charge battery up, as bikes don't have a huge charge to recharge a flat battery and you would need to charge battery via a charger...

The charger doesnt have to be bike specific as long as it has slow charge option (This might fix the battery)

What Enigma51 is saying... 4 amp battery charger, leave it on for about 5-6 hours.
I would be VERY reluctant to jump start it, ECUs are VERY easy to toast.
Failing that, new battery

Yea jump start it...12 volts is 12 volts no matter how big the battery is...Just make sure you hook it up the right way or it will go BOOM.

pete at WMC sorted me out, gonna get them to charge it to save me spending a big whack of cash on a charger ill probably never use again.
