Well what better way to get back in the racing scene than to race at Wanganui on a bike id had for no more than 3days after not racing for nearly a year...
The bike arrived from Japan on the Friday night. I got it back to my place on Monday, so had a few late nights/early mornings working on it to get it up to scratch for the famous street race.
The fairings didnt exactly look too nice, but the bike was sounding REALLY nice, so I left it like it was as I simply didnt have time to make it look pretty before riding it.
The first time I actually rode the thing was the sighting in session. I was real scared that it wouldnt turn etc, but it wasnt too bad.
The setup was difinately for a little Japaneese rider and not for a 6.3 90kg me!
So a few minor adjustments and I had it turning a little better.
The bike had no shortage of speed, so im stoked about that. Ive just got to get the bike handling a little better and make it so I can fit it a little better. I plan to play around a bit more at the trackday on the 10th.
I wont go on about how I went at Wanganui, as I would have like to go better but was happy to survive the day and had a HUGE amount of fun.
Was SOOOOOOO good to be back racing again. Id waited and waited and waited for the bike to arrive. and now its here I feel theres been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
So bring on the racing!! IM BACK!!
Im now on an 06 CBR600rr. There was a thread with some pics a while back, so ill see if I can dig that up.
It came with LOTS of goodies already on it, so all I need to do is make it look pretty and maybe (if my wallet allows...) go the Ohlins option further down the track.
