    You twit.

I've just pulled my one apart and sorted this problem myself.

What's the state of play with the caliper? The caliper block is okay isn't it?

So you've munted the pin that holds the caliper in place? Soak the bugger with CRC and easy-out it...

Then replace the pins (use copper anti-seize when you put it together next time) and replace the caliper bolts.

Post pics and I'll talk you through it.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

F8ck off Si!! Don't listen to him man! Use your grinder while the caliper is in place that way there will tons of room to put the new bits you'll have to buy!!

Ummm... no I didn't but I do now... Thanks Niggs. Note to self - must make up a handy dandy file of all this information that Si has... perhaps Si could collate it all in one location or make a copy of it all to disk for us...

OK I think Col has it twisted around a bit, it is the pins that hold the PAD'S in that are stuck (see pix) I think if I had a blowtorch I could heat the block and maybe get the pins out......but I dont....so I cant

Oh well, best buy a new one. Or you could find some new pins that fit, often you can buy them as accessories or check what genuswine cost. Then just get someone with a mig (local garage) to attach an old bolt to the other end, possibly as a 'T' & unscrew it, once loose, cut the big end off.
Don't you look at my accountant.

Yeah well, all you fancy-pants may replace the caliper but seriously, what do these bolts do?

They provide a platform for the pads to slide on. Are they straight? Then no harm done. My pad slide bolts are stuck exactly like those ones. I used some 400, 800 and 2000 grit sandpaper to get them nice and shiny and used a bit of grease on them.

As long as the bolts that hold the caliper together are good, and you replace the o-rings to ensure no leakage, they'll be fine.

Paint the caliper and get over it. There's plenty of other things to spend your money on.

Chocky --Those pins have been seized forever. The last set of pads were fitted by splitting the caliper, fitting the pads and bleeding the caliper.
It only takes an extra 10 minutes to do. Saves a shit loada worry n strife.
