Wellington based MC19 CBR250 owners - your help please

    Hi Guys,

im currently riding my CBR250 on a daily basis... well have been since i got it.
i know the full history of the bike since it came into NZ some many years ago and its always been used as a daily rider.

My bike has 136,000 kms on the clock now... yes thats correct 136000kms, its been around the clock

    see the speedo history here
    http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=64ywh&search=Check

Now with so many km's on it you would expect the engine is not in the best condition anymore, even tho its been looked after fairly well i think she is getting a little tired.

Im thinking of swapping the engine with one from the wreckers (if bucketsnbits ever gets around to replying to my email)

Here is where i need your help, is there anyone that has a good condition MC19 that i could take for a short test ride? i would like to test it 0-100km/h and climbing some kinda hill... i would just like to know how "down on power" or degraded my engine really is before i go and spend the money replacing it.
Will buy you a beer for your time

or if anyone has any other suggestions on why she may be feeling a little sluggish these days that would be great.

its recently just had a new oil/filter/fuel filter/air filter and got new plugs a few 1000 kms ago.

i consider myself "alright" with the tools so am willing to try things myself but dont really know much about things like balancing carbs or whatever (am a quick learner if someone is willing to show)

    Thanks in advance

    Sam

get a dyno run on it mate. and a compression test etc
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

if money was no object that would be nice, however im on a tight budget these days and last time i checked dyno runs were not cheep... if i was to do a dyno run i would want to do it on the new engine i think.

compression test might be an idea, any guess on what the local shop would charge me to do that?
