Too pricey/flash, and we're likely to upset people here
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?

Same could be said for TeNikau.

    - so is it "no clothes allowed" the rest of the year?

My plug is for a site is:
    - it has enough facilities to ensure the softies aren't put off.
    - it isn't too close to other significant rallies in the SI
    - it doesn't have neighbours to bother
    - not too expensive

So my picks so far are:
Kopara (a magic place), or the Blackball area
Seddonville (especially if we can take over the whole camp)
I have just found out that they have removed the word gullible from the dictionary

Not a lot of space for bikes or tents either. Very lovely place, but not suited for a rowdy mob I'd have to agree.

I was about to suggest Banks Peninsula somewhere - because it is very nice indeed. However, there's quite a few gravel roads (could be avoided if necessary). On the flip side there aren't really any campgrounds, but maybe a paddock could be borrowed if the right enquiries were made - doesn't solve the "enough facilities" issue though.
On the other hand - a good ride away from Christchurch wouldn't be a bad thing.

This place is in the same area but a little of the track so to speak. Stayed here once before. Website does not do the place justice.

Hey, Papatowai was on the telly news tonight, there are some very "interesting" people down there!

Perhaps we could go "there" next year! John.

PS: Didn't see Daffyd on the news though!

Speaking of which - did your starting technique actually make it to the small screen in the end?

I don't actually know the answer to that!

The Tiger sits a bit closer to the ground now. (sort of in a power crouch)

Starting and stopping manoeuvres have improved now, ever so minutely but never the less, improved! cheers, John.

    Looks Fabulous, Bernard
46 persons is the limit for beds, plus tents so would be OK.
Costs would vary from $25 - $33 per night if the dearer lodges were full.
    They have a fire !
BUT is the cafe a communal kitchen???????

I have the Tautuku Outdoor Education Centre pencilled in for next year.

It's so popular it's booked up to 2 years in advance.

What was the news bit? I missed it 'cos I was out mowing lawns.

The news item was about a local guy who makes wizzy little gizmo's (for sale) in his hippy like shed..

    Bloody clever stuff actually.

I was waiting for you to make your dramatic stage left entry but you must have been distracted elsewhere!

There can only be room for one genius at Papatowai surely!

Thought that would be you! Cheers, John.
