    UK Traffic Cops...

You guys might find this interesting... how the cops in the UK deal with Motorcyclists (and horses / stray dogs among other things), but watch out for the 600KG Africa Twin.....

    Sorry...

Doh... Sorry. I'm in the UK, so didn't predict that...

Basically it was showing the Police pulling speeding bikers etc - 1 officer was having a go at an Africa Twin rider who hit a horse on a country lane - he said that "with a bike this powerful and weighing 500 to 600 kgs, it was a recipe for disater"

No cop bashing intended... but please... is there any bike that weights 600kgs? (apart from a fully dressed Gold Wing with a fat bastard on board)

One of the coppers has a Hayabusa to chase down the speeders - they also go to bike meets etc to hang out with the bikers which is kinda cool...

Damn... Does that mean I can't watch the latest Eastenders when I get back?
We can watch all the BBC programs again on iPlayer if you miss it on TV... Damn I'll miss it (but I won't miss the god damn freezing temperatures!)

Are the Yorkshire bike cops still taking bikers through the roads up north, showing them the best and quickest way through?

Cant remeber the actual road but the police got so fed up with bikers crahing on it they started this initiative.

Yes, I believe so... The local Police forces do training days around their local roads.

Sounds kinda cool... apparently they don't hang around while out riding either!

    Quickly perused the site.

I've been away for 6 years and this wasnt around when I rode over there.

Looks bloody good. It is the sort of thing I would have taken part in.

I notice that in one of the forces pages they state that motorbikes are only 1% of road traffic but account for 20% of fatilities and accidents in UK.

Figures very similar to those here in NZ

Did one with the Warwickshire cops, well worth it and amazing fun:

Being told by a copper to speed up on the M/way when I was already doing 85 (MPH).
Two cocky Ducati riders being humiliated on the back roads by a female cop on a Pan - DON'T try and out run a bike copper, they are good.
