hey there icekiwi whats your email ad ive got some of that video footage of you and your bike as i blew past you lol
does anyone know who was on the 1000cc bikes up front of group 1?
one was dark grey gsxr1000 on slicks, other was a white/blue zx10 from memory?
thanks
Me too, except I didn't catch itFortunately the damage to the bike was minor - peg, gear lever, clutch lever, indicator, paint. Now to get that Quasimoto Racer9 suit that fit like a gloove!
You wouldn't think that a 400 would lose the back under power - until you combine ham-fistedness with a GPR100 rear that's seen too much communtering![]()
Was that the time the seat broke? A little more then running wide I'd say! haha
Just kidding though. Could have seen it coming almost, seemed the back was getting worse every session. Went from chattering to lifting completely off. Probably just going to hard into that corner to brake smoothly ow!![]()
Yea, suspension is competely stock so I'm not surprised it started to get squishy over a bit of timethe front was diving a bit more than it should have and bottoming out which i guess caused the chatter in the front and rear coz turn 1 is a bit bumpy where i was entering it, then like you said ended up doing rollin stoppies into that corner
bike was roughly set up for glen whose alot lighter than me
Seat is def broke though lol, me too fat!
You sounded proud, like someone wearing their pegs down, only this was from some totally extreme braking coming off the back strait on the limiter in 6th only hitting the picks at the 100meter marker, right, man?
Just out of interest, how late were people waiting to start braking off the back strait? I thought I was braking as late as I cared to at 160 at the 150 marker but i could swear that vid of shaun harris on the 600 showed him doing 200+ at the 100 line...![]()
I'm only just starting to come to terms with braking markers and the 150 is where i'm pulling it in !
Shaun came past me on the very start of pit straight at twice my speed so wouldn't be surprised if he is doing twice my speed through that set of corners ! So 200 at the 100 aint surprising !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
Bowls can wait !
You guys must have close box's to be in 6 dont you red line it in 5

Sounds about right. You can turn in really hard under brakes into that chicane if you trust your bike's front end.
The very best I can do there on the 1400 is to get on the brakes just before the 150m mark. I'm about halfway through fifth gear at that stage.
Speed along the back straight at Taupo is all about how much drive you can get out of the sweeper.
Edit: Although I gotta say I wouldn't mind a set of Yoshi cams to help me out along there and after T9...
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

It's the only corner i'm finding my bike sliding the back on exit is the sweeper (not hanging off enough yet i recon)
The entry to the first corner was sommit adrian (chris's bro) showed me on a very early track day, if ya come in from a wide entry ya can brake all the way to the second turn, which i'm doing and changing down as i drop into the turn (aint got that corner right since they put the resin down lol) but ya can get the drop on many a rider by braking late there !
