Well what a Blast that was.
The new EBC Rotors pads and Pipercross air filter arrived Friday.
Left Oxford @ about 5:30am running late gas up at Hornby by the time I left the start point 6:30ish I think most of the bikes where on the road. Took the northern rout as I wasn’t to keen on mixing it with all the cost to coasters on the way home. The ride up the coast was quite sedate as we where told there maybe some boys in blue on the road. Saw about 4 patrol cars at a truck & trailer crash the trailer was hanging over a rail tunnel with tractor unit upside down on the side of the road what a mess. There was one other just before Blenheim gave me a nice wave but didn’t want to stop and talk as was on the TT2000.
Did the Queens Chariotte Drive clip-on not many places to pass I didn’t realise the road was that tight good workout through. Mussel pie @ Havelock (not recommended) Then more or less open road to Westport Bike purring. Followed a Rocket three from Westport for a while he was two up and was giving the exhaust covers a bit of a polish. Ended up waving me past I think his Misses might have been poking in the ribs a bit hard. Nice guy for an Aussie.
Left Punakaiki 5 minutes down the road and I get a police escort to Greymounth Hummmmm
Reefton be a good boy and buy Mrs BBzz Valentines present sweet.
Then the ride home road home back at start finish @ about 6:30 7:00.

Must say at this point I didn’t realise how bad the old rotors where and more to the point HOW GOOD these EBC are unbelievable its like I have a form of EBS and smooth Azzzzzz amazing.

Day two got a bit of a dozy head from the night before I think it twaz the wormwood.
Got an earlier start. Man I hate state highway 1 it seemed to take forever to get to Geraldine tank up Mince pie and hit the road came across a bit of fog which slowed me down a tad. Stop @ Twizel for gas and a coffee head feeling a bit better by this stage. Got talking to one of the locals he said that there were SEVEN out of town in the area I think they had a feeding frenzy the day before. He was telling me that one of the mufti cars, a Silver Holden even had a Teddy Beer in the back window and the rear window lights were covered sneaky copper.
Good ride to Wanaka then into the Harst a bit wet in places probably just a scotch mist to the Coasters the road was clean and the Diablo on the front did its stuff real well.
Just love those coast roads you just get in the zone set the corner up flick here in bring on some gas straighten up and ready for the next one ROCKON!!!!!
Stop at Jacksons for a Meet up with some of the Northern TT2000 riders doing the Jacksons clip-on they still had to ride through Reefton to get home good on you guys and girls who did all the clip-on’s job well done.
Had a bit of a moment just out of Arthurs Pass township over the one way bridge by the police station new seal slippery as and its not road marked. Its like the seal has melted and has left a thin coating of tare on top of the chip be warned there are other places as well on that stretch of road from Arthurs to the Bealey.
Back into ChCh to the finish.
All in all real good weekend thanks to everyone who put on the event love it
A must do for next year with All the clip-on’s

    a wee update

Headed away from Auckland on Thursday about 5.30pm (mistake but had no choice) damn traffic was an arse but hey better than working right :-)

Wind, slippery roads and rain down through the western side of Taupo arrived Bulls 1/2 past midnight. Asked the at the gas station where I could get a bed for the night. They kindly rang the local motel who gave me a good deal on a room (Sorry about the puddle in the bathroom from the gear...)

Met up with Mike (Honda ST1300) at 7.00am at the Himatangi Turn off. Cool and scattered showers all the way down to get the 10.30 Ferry on Friday.

    Everything soaking wet yum.

Arrived at the ferry. Lots of bikers (tour group of US riders, plenty to chat about)and had an uneventful trip over, quick run down SH 1 to ChCh.

Early start on Saturday for the event (up at 5.00 am ) met up with Mike and John (The Jaffa's). Decided to do the Southern route and see how the weather went before we decide to go for the bronze,Silver or Gold add-ons.

Although cool (lowest temp was 2 C) we made good time and decided to do the Aoraki (Mt Cook) add on.

Headed down through the fantastic roads to Lindis Pass. Spotted 4 (yes FOUR) cops lying in wait. Apparently 8 of them were stationed locally in a bit of a "blitz".

Lovely roads down to Omarama then the Luggate add-on, back via Haast to Arthurs then to ChCh. getting cold and tired and arrived about 8.30pm.

Back home for a good sleep...

Up at 5.30am on the Sunday, arrive at the start point at 6.00 then away for the Northern route.

Decide to go for Silver so head for Blenheim, Westport, Greymouth and add-on to Jacksons. Headed back up to the Lewis route to ChCh.

Get back to ChCh around 8.00pm(?) photos, share war stores then head home to ready for the trip back to Auckland on Monday.

    Then tragedy struck

Parked the K Bike up at a takeaway (the golden Orchid I think... Stanmore Road). Waiting for the Red Curry Special and I heard an expensive cruuuuunch. Looked around and the bike was laying on her right side.

Lady in the car in front had reversed straight into the bike.

Broken Pannier, bent brake lever, scraped fairing, dinged engine case... thank god for Duct tape else I woulda had a problem getting home.

Anyway, no one hurt, let the insurance sort it out.

Home to bed, up and on the road at 7.00am, weather was cool and got better the further we went. Got the 1.30pm Ferry and continued to Taihape arriving at around 6pm or so. A few beers and a steak then off to sleep.

Arrived in Auckland around 3.00pm on Tuesday. Yay back to work on Thursday.

    Cheers

    hey dude

Good to hear you made it there and back.

Ha ha , the coppa's musta filled their quotas quite quickly methinks. Bonus's all round.

I of course, do not speed so not a problem right.

One of them cut me off when I was tunring left off Remmers onto Greenlane as I left Dorkland. Evasive action and just missed the tosser. I gave him the one finger salute and a mouthfull ( he could lipread I am sure) then he turned on the lights as he completed his turn.

Ok I thought here we go.

Then he fuks off past me down Greenlane... I wonder if this was "cover" for his shit driving.

    Total Km's run was 4,366.

    Cheers

Yep1 Rona is making sure that his Aprilia is reliable this time (or he'll look for that ZX14 he sold a while back), and I'll take a bit more care when shaving, especially in the last two or three months!
