More will be in there later during the evening and the next few days.
Holy shit, those are some mint photos. Is this really your first go at bike photography?

What lens were you using on the 350?

Thanks, yep, first time at doing bike racing. Had been something I had been meaning to get around having a go at for some time.

Just a cheap Sigma 70-300 APO zoom. Most of the time was shooting around f/8 to keep slow shutter speeds for the motion effect... so fast glass wasn't that necessary.

I was just looking at the rest of your galley, some really awesome photos.
The camera settings and gear is only one part (I was just curious), good composition is what makes the photo. You certainly have the eye for it

Yeah, even for the bike pics the same rules of composition, light, lines etc still apply. Actually all of those pics are from practice and qualifying on the Saturday when there were less crowds of people around to clutter up the backgrounds...

Time to DROP the Superbike class, and RE introduce F2 with the rules as they once were with the SS600 being the main NZ Class structure?

Cheapish/ cost effective and a lot more of a show
Nah, we just need something in place to encourage people to race in our premier class. At present you are actively discouraged from racing Superbikes by virtue of the fact you only get half the racing at club level.

Fix up the bunky cross entry rules and race Superbike/600's concurrently in 2 grades rather than by capacity. You could then have A and B grade 600 and Superbike champions, giving the not quite so quick riders something to race for and a progression path for our young racers coming through.

Make it a superstock class and that would do it just fine.

I agree to a point but would rather see 1000's race with 1000's and 600's race with 600's a grading system would be useful within the classes but would need to be well regulated. MNZ needs some new thinking to move with the times as the current she'll be right mate attitude is obviously failing.

Ill start them off for nationals

    - for non distributer backed privateers make entries free to the north island if you live in the south and same vice versa, watch the numbers grow...

    -series entry discounts for privateers

    - have incentives for the highest placed privateer per class

    - get the industry wholesalers on board with descent packages for racers

    - get distributers on board to help set up satellite teams/riders with established top level racers

    - get distributers to offer incentives for the highest placing privateer using their machine per national round and recognised club events overall

    - Use the Net more, watch live pay per view

    or

    do nothing

The pay per veiw is a good idea, maybe we should use speed-box hahahahaa

Obviously privateers are the guys that need the support those are the guys that make up the numbers, we dont have a lack of factory supported riders with 6 guys in superbike but you cant make it all to hard on them cause they are the guys everyone want to watch...

If there was free entry to the rounds there would be way more riders and it wouldnt effect them cause they basically didnt get f/a from entrys anyway

1000cc bikes outsell any other bike in NZ, so why on earth would they get rid of them? They dont need to get rid of them.
