How is the back held onto the cabinet?
If it is in a rebate, it may be glued = slight problem...
If it is proud of the surface it might be able to prise it off (carefully) with a broad chisel.

Excellent suggestions. Personally if there is a mirror involved, I'd be a bit windy about chiselling and hammering. You'd be better to take a few more pics of the lock and ask a locksmith. Or try to get the hinge pins out if they are accessible.
All I can say is that you have a quite a nice cupboard. Not really worth smashing it up or drilling it aye, however if you got to do, you gotta.
