Jim-bob the mechanic, Greymouth: That tyre's fkd..it wouldn't even make it to CHCH!
MV: "phew, just as well we're not goin to CHCH, then...we're off to AKL!!
Melandri may be on the Kawasaki after the winter break with Kawasaki running three bikes until the end of the year. Shinya Nakano may be inline for a return to Kawasaki too, that may leave a spot open for Melandri to return to the Gresini Honda team. Gresini may also talk to Ben Spies, depends how Vermuelan goes, he is considering leaving the Suzuki team, Ducati are talking to him about replacing Bayliss in WSBK.
Rossi and Edwards have both resigned for Yamaha next year.
Xaus to ride the new beemer
that will be interesting

Good news for Gaz.

"...New Zealanders, for all their faults, have virtues that are precious: an unwillingness to be intimidated by the new, the formidable, or class systems; trust in situations where there would otherwise be none; compassion for the underdog; a sense of responsibility for people in difficulty; not undertaking to do something without seeing it through - "

No self repecting MotoGP rider would want to ride that (green) lemon.........[/QUOTE]
Hey, Ya still gotta luv the green underdog though, An angry bike, with always fringy riders on-board provides for a lot of fun. Who knows one day they might get a combination that gets a bit closer. Dont knock em too hard - theres only just enough on the grid now to call it a "competition" as it is......................![]()
Ant's a goner?
The Kawasaki Competition Manager said:
"I know Anthony is disappointed with his performance this weekend, but it's difficult to identify exactly where his problem is at the moment. He needs to work hard now to justify his place in MotoGP. The Kawasaki Racing Team is here to secure results, and he needs to convince us he can be a part of that. We will speak to him during the summer break to see if we can find some way of improving his form ahead of the next race."
Yet I have always maintained that a 'good wet track' rider is a 'good' rider. The wet track I believe, just levels the playing field. And West is a GOOD wet track rider! Not many will argue against that?![]()

Agreed, Kawasaki changed the motor for this year back toa traction controlled "screamer" - maybe westy has not got on as well with it. They were certainly more consistent last year with DePuniet & West psoting some respectable results aye (wet or dry).
Whether its true or not that kawasaki chase hp over "all else" , I dont know - but they do appear to be lacking a Burgess type fellow that can bring all of the various facets together.
I am not convinced on Hoppers bike development / set up skills either.
