NAC won't cover me for theft as I said to Frosty. Never heard of Star. I'll try them on Monday too.

Well if you will insist on telling the insurance company that you park the bike between the Mongrel Mob and Hells Angels HQ's with a Harleys Suck and a National Front Rulz sticker on the tank no wonder...

    ?

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I just made a claim (wasn't a right off mind you), and they haven't said anything, or increased anything. I do however have a $1500 excess, for anything (fire, theft, accident or harikari)

The fuss is that I can't get theft cover for 600cc 5 year old Sports Tourer. How the hell do you expect to be able to own a bike if you can't get it replaced if it got stolen?

You have a $1500 excess because your bike is worth the better part of $20k, and you're under 30. My bike is worth $7k. I don't see how that warrants exclusion from theft cover or a $1000 theft excess.

It's probably no fuss for you because you don't have a mortgage, kids, a student loan, and the need to replace the car this year. All on one income.

Sorry Jim, I badly conveyed the meaning of my post What I meant is, how can they make it so difficult to get theft coverage, and standard theft coverage at that! It's a pretty big part of insurance, I wouldn't keep my bike if I wasn't covered either. Hope you sort it out. If you want to go for a ride and chill, I'm always available.

    Jeez wayne.

I thought you were being a bit harsh!

Rgr the ride - I'll be out the door about 7am so I can get a ride in before Heather has to go out.

That will be too early for most normal people I suspect, so I'll probably see you at Caltex on the way back from the Flying Fish

    Farq Jim this stinks.

I am really astounded to hear that you're having such a hard time getting full theft cover. What the hell kind of service do these fuckwit insurance companies think they are offering?!

I wish I could offer some useful advice - other than I wouldn't piss on an electric fence. :spudwhat:

    Where's the fine print?
It's never how it seems with an insurance policy. I'll believe it when I've seen it.
