You won't find any excuses from this guy why not to race. Privateer superbike rider Sloan "Choppa" Frost turned up at Invercargill with his ZX10 Kawasaki and proved that there are still riders who choose to race , even though they don't stand much of a chance of winning at the moment. They race because they love it , first and foremost.
Choppa dislocated his wrist at Taupo in December , but still turned up at the first round of the 2009 Superbike Championship. Sloan from Cambridge shows the determination of some one who deserves to succeed.
Another fact about choppa. Realising that racing costs money , did he use the fact that he didn't have major sponsors to help him?
No, he organised his own fund raiser and auctioned off a Kawasaki ZX10 (which he had to pay for) to raise some funds. He has a little sponsorship , but like most totally self funded.
Look out for the number 21 Superbike and go up and say hi , because without riders like Sloan there would be no racing at any level.
Great to see theres interest in the privateers.
Good luck to the LG boys and the KBers this weekend.![]()
