    3 days of trackday heaven!

Just rocked in the door last night from 3 days of track junkie heaven !
First two of which were in tacky hot brilliant sunshine !
Fridays kiwitrack day was a bit quiet, but great for getting out and pushing a few more of my own limits in group 1 without the worry of too many ppl whiping past me !
But an absolute brilliant day with copius amounts of track time !

Saturdays Motott saw a lot more riders, with a good number of quick guys !
Couldn't help myself and moved up to group 1 after lunch to play chase the thou's ! Oh and not to forget motards, yep i think i quite like mixing it with motards now, ya think you've got them and relax, lol wrong move, as the next thing there doe se doeing ya round the outside !
Wasn't long before i was mixing it with Jrandom on his 14 and Quasi on the motard ! Only one thing to be said there ! Coooool ! Well ok maybe two things, if ya done a few trackdays ya soon find other riders with similar Hp bikes who ya talk to and next thing you find yaself going out behind them just so ya can play for a few laps !

Sunday morning was a bit wet to start with (after the tent was packed up bwahahaha)and after two days of hard out pedaling (bloody felt like i had been anyway, shit i could hardly walk saturday night) i stood at pit wall (under a brolly) watchin a parade of triumphs go round in the torrential rain in the first fast session ! I mean hello ! I do this for enjoyment and that aint what i call enjoyable ! But of course the weather man was right and the sun came out around 11, So i was out there with a few triples for a couple of runs ! One on the 1050 and then on the 955 ! First run on the 10 found me come in behind a daytona 955
The second was on the 955 which i find i can throw around a bit more (sure its all in the head space, add 5 k extra in worth here ! Or could it really all be in the better quality tyre ?) well i got round the daytona, allbeit because of his missed gear change that let me in ! But call me norm, as i took the bloody opportunity and got round the inside of him on turn 1 then held him out for another 3 laps to come in ahead !
Not to mention the motard that was still lurking behind us lol

    Lessons learnt this weekend !

1/ The full track is made for the thou's haha there aint no catchin them, i need to be set free in the woods to chase bears !
2/ I can gain alot of that lost ground in corners now and though they might have me on the next straight its great to see them glance behind when they hear ya coming again
3/ Patience is wonderfull, if you aint got the horses to blip past em but can sit close enough so they keep hearing the roar of a triple behind em ! A mistake will come !
4/Keep a tight line if a 1400 is chasing ya, cause they look intimidating when they pop up on the inside !
    5/Grass makes tyres slippery !
6/ That prick on the RR 1000 who ya take on turn 5, but then retakes you next lap, on the same corner, then holds you out for another couple of laps while you curse and call him all sorts of names cause they're out riding ya, might not actually have a prick !!!! (PT, i do not see red mist,)
Lastly #7/ I want more ponies ! I thought trackdays were addictive enough and know that trackdays aint about coming first, but checkered flags are pretty

    Thanks go out to
kiwitrackdays for a great day friday
Motott for another exceptional day and to chris for all your advice cheers mate, a great mind worth picking !
Mort (paul) for sharing the garage with me and trucking down my new parts !
Heidi for hanging in there for 3 days looking after me and the dog !
Dpex for the great company back at camp David
All the riders who showed up for the three days and made it so much fun
And last but far from least, Gubb (nick) who ran around all over the auckland region for me last week tracking down parts and delivering them to places far out of his way ! The gods did indeed smile man ! (told ya i'd get you to a track someday aye mate lol)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

You'd make a good author Bill, good read.

Looked to me that you were more in sync with the 955 on Sat, looked humming.

Only sad note to the whole weekend was coming home after 2 nights camping, sweating profusely for 3 days, to find i had only shut the nozzle off on the hose, but not the tap and 10,000 litres of precious liquid has been pumped onto our back lawn at the beginning of a heat wave ! That stinks worse than i do !

Water is precious for us country bumpkins eh mate.
I had to get a water truck a few weeks ago to top the tanks up.
Fuck I'd be spewing big time if I did that.
Especially if the troughs ran dry and there were dead animals everywhere.

You had access to a perfectly good shower and never took the opportunity. Serves you right! It was God getting pissed at you telling all and sundry that you did 1:44 and doing so smelling like 100Kgs of dead fish.

Didn't you notice the bikers falling off as you passed them? They weren't doing so as a result of your amazing speed...it was the dead-fish smell which consumed them. :-)))))))))))))))

For all of you who don't know, Willie's a trick y bastard. He rides like the hounds of the Baskerville, but when he thinks someone might present unresaonable competition, he gets his dog, Shadow, to nip over to the comps' pit and throw up.

I've never seen such a well-trained dog. Willie doesn't even need to scope out the target. The dog seems to know. Wanders over and throws up.

    Fucking good ploy.

Did the dog throw up near you, J? It did near me, several times. Quite off-putting. :--)))

However, despite the dog, it seems second place is to be fought out between me and you, Mr Random. Willie quite clearly has the legs on us.

Maybe we'll have to cheat. :--)))) Kidnap the fucking dog, I say. That'll mess up Willie's head.
