Smoking's bad for your health. Buy a four stroke.

Perhaps give an inline four a go? Such as a CBR, FZR or ZXR. Great little bikes, some within your price range too.

    Trademe is your friend btw.

    Thumbs up

I used to have a KRR150. KR's and RG's are designed as commuter bikes, so are fairly reliable, as far as two strokes go.

They do need to be looked after properly, and can have random two stroke moods, but they are good, relatively cheap, little bikes.

how reliable are these early 90's bikes though, i know there what you get if you want a fast bike but is it likely to last a year without dying on me in some way shape or form?

I have been using trade me, but its nice to get the opinion of people who arent selling the bike, i.e if i ask a tradme listing, is this a reliable bike? there not going to say no are they

Buy an old shitter or shell out $ 2800 for the new Suzuki GN250 then ping it off once you have your full.

    Yeah I agree RG150
It seems to be the race replica 2 strokes that are the unreliable ones, i.e 250's (RGV, NSR, TZR etc) and trust me I know!
But you don't ahve to rebuild a RG anywhere near as much (250's up to 3x as much!)
You can get them cheap, around 2g and they are fun little bikes

theres not really a huge diiference between 250's really, its mainly down to rider ability. if you want cheap and reliable go the GN250 its reliable as hell and even cheaper. and its not really a turd, i had one as a loan bike from a workshop (yes thats right suprise suprise my hyo was in the shop) haha and it was algood on the motorway and if you needed to get away fast from the lights then you just had to rev the poo out of it.

GO THE SINGLE CYLNDER POWER haha

but yea you might master it quickly but your full is just around the corner
