    Scuzemes PMCC Round 2

What a fantastic three days in Fielding!
Hot weather, Awesom racing and great company.

    FRIDAY.
I decided to head up to Manfield Friday morning to the test/track day, to my amazement there were only 2 other bikers and 4 cars there for the whole day.
20 minute sessions every 20 minutes allowed for well over 100 laps infact i couldnt keep up with the sessions in the afternoon i guess Manfield Inc didnt meet their costs that day (i on the other hand got great value for money).
I was able to put all gear in garage 13 at days end so i wouldnt have to worry bout it in the morning sweet.
Left the track feeling buggered but happy that i had picked up a few pointers from the other two guys on bikes there.

    SATURDAY
PMCC Test Day got to the track way early and waited till Ningaboy, Biggles, Jrandom and Pretty Billie showed up, Flame joined us and a couple of others doing F3 so we had a "lively bunch" at the double garage.
Told Marcus id show him some lines which ended up in him giving me the learn on his very first time out on the track needless to say we all had a great day but spent too long having an afternoon beer and got locked in on the wrong side of the gates, 45 minutes later Nigel showed up and let us go home.
My times were in the 1:22's which was a bit disappointing as my PB was a 1.20.1.

    SUNDAY
    PMCC Round 2
Qualifier Round: By this stage i had done about 150 laps on some new Metzelers and was thinking bout taking the 180 off the rear and slapping a new 190 on, i decided to leave it and went out Qualifying 7th two places behind Sinfull, the four top placings were in the 14's and 15's! i think my time was around a 1:22.
At the end of the qualifier i was placed second row and had decided that my goals for the day was to get into the 19's and be infront of Sinfull.

    RACE ONE
Stomach churning stuff sitting on the dummy grid, did our warm up lap and got into position, Green flag down and bogged it badly Fuck!
Must of had bout 8 or 9 racers infront of me by the time i got the Yamakazi off the starting grid - turn one i had caught up to the bunch went wide round the sweeper into splash and down the inside straight the first four riders were already coming out of Higgins only Bjorn and Bill infront of me so i aimed for Bill (Sinfull) which was my strategy.
Spent an eternity trying to catch bill on the triple he had much greater speed out of the corners but i had more pace in the last third of each straight and by the 4th lap i was breaking way later cornering quicker accept through splash and the hair pin where i broke my arm last year.
Final lap i over took bill on the back straight round Dunlop to the chequered flag only .7 infront of him for 6th place and a new PB of 1:19.4 choiiiceeee.

    RACE TWO
Reece Marcus and Shane got booted out of clubmans Hahhaaaaahaaaa (i was bummed to see Bruce on the dummy grid) i new i had a good chance of placing 3rd or 4th in this race, did the warm up Green flag down you guessed it bogged again only worse Fuck! Bill was going hard out in this race by the end of the first lap it was Bruce, Bjorn, Bill and me pretty spread out but within sight. Finally hunted Bill down in the 4th lap on the front straight and knew he would be right up my arse did another lap and noticed Bill had dropped off the pace i came in third and cut another .5 second off my time to give me a new PB of 1:18.9.

Needless to say this was a fantastic weekend i was happy with my results especially breaking the 1:20 barrier and then into the high 18s

I just want to mention the Metzeler Race Techs that i had on did over 150 laps and i was still going faster at the end of Sunday, i love these tyres.

Hope everyone that went had as gooda weekend as i had, Cheers.

That's very cool going man. Carving chunks out of the PB like that is very satisfying. See you at the track.

Quasi said it right! of all the things to describe your riding style it is smooth as! good place to build on bro! I watched you in the second race of clubmans (from the sideline...that was weird!) and you looked really comfortable on yamakazi! And Fark that thing is loud!

Good write up mate, look forward to our next catch up...the METZELER tires rock huh! :-)

Well Darrin you never seem to amaze me with your riding ability. I was amazed at Taupo at how well you rode in that indurance race in the blessed rain which didnt really ease up the whole 3 hrs you were on the track and then to see you at round 2 of the PMCC meet at Manfeild on Sunday just proved to me that you can ride in any conditions and do it to the best of your ability. Well Done and Goodluck for this years Winter Series and whatever other meetings you attend to during the year.

Great to see you back on the horse again and in form. I'm sure in time I will be dicing with you ( but not too soon ) on the track. Good write up and I'm sure your grin lasted all the way home.
