    Boats!

Not bike related but something that has been pissing me off for a while. I have been around boats since i was little, started driving my uncle's 42ft yacht when i was 5 (with a little help of course ) an bin racing yachts since i was 7. now, i dont have any problem with people buying boats and taking to the water i am glad because more people get 2 see how fun it can be BUT im am sick of people who have never been near a boat before buying 1 and thinking they can do everything that evry1 else can because there boat is capable. they have accidents and cause hassel for other boaties just recently while on holiday i had 2 tow a family in a brand new speed boat because they had gone out with no auxillary motor and no oars and thier engine had seized it took 3 hours 2 get them back to a warf where they could get help its so unnessisary an so preventable

Thats me done , safe riding everyone

Know where you are coming from, i get pissed off when coming into a busy harbour, like picton and watching all the dum arses who dont know who to give way to. One of the first thing i did when getting serious about my boating i went and did a boat masters course
I rekon any one in control of a motor, sail boat or jet ski should at least do thier day skipper before being allowed to take control by themselves

Must be a southern thing - I was on the water for most of the weekend, and raced in today's Auckland Anniversary Regatta and did not have the slightest problem (except with the fscking navy ship who decided to move off and steal our wind just as we were approaching the final mark - cost us two places, the bastards).

Generally the only trouble is with tinnies and ferries (who, in their defence, are often being forced to meet a nigh-impossible schedule).

Spent most of today wondering if the next purchase in a few weeks time will be another bike or a Pied Piper. Choices, choices.
