    TL1000 slipper clutch

This might be interesting (or not ) to anyone who might want to mod their TL1000.
A few pics in this link of how i adapted a 2006 GSXR1000 clutch unit to the TL1000 drive gear.

    Cheers Mike
Hopefully the updated pictures will show things more clearly.
The second one is being done as we speak,no need to guess who that person might be.
There is a possibilty of wear at the drive tangs due to no cush, but that can be a project for another day (Billet basket from 7075 alloy with replaceable titanium strips in the tangs)
I think about a new bike now and again but where is the fun in that, easier to keep your head firmly in the sand

What is does mean is any of the aftermarket slipper centres for the K5 up GSXR1000 (SRM etc) will slot right in as an option.
As far as i know there are no centres available for the TL1000.

You could put it in your Favourites section. ? adding any other sites you like to it as you go.
Then you can go direct to any with a left click.

Click on the link to open the page, click on favourites in the tool bar at the top of your screen then click on Add at the lefthand side then OK.

Just a bump for this thread since i added some pics and the second one has been tested in a race TL in the UK with flying colours.
All the usual problems with the stock TL1000 back torque limiter are removed.
It might be of interest to someone.

The short version is the stock TL1000 clutch is removed from its drive gear and a later (2006 GSXR1000 in this case) GSXR clutch is removed from its drive gear and adapted to the TL gear.
The key is probably the custom retaining nut as the splines are the same but the shaft is a little shorter on the TL.

The GSXR clutch is taller so a clutch cover spacer is needed.
I had made a cover prior so did not have that problem.

Aftermarket GSXR750 slipper centres are also being fitted to the TL1000S clutch hub.
