    Red face Maintenance costs?

So ladies (and gents, I know there are a lot of you out there that read what goes on in Biker Angels that "maintain" yourselves!), how much would you estimate you spend on your general maintenance per month? Do you have your nails done? Waxing? Tanning? Hairdresser? Clothes/shoes/handbags/sunglasses? Gym membership? Etc etc?
How much would you consider a reasonable amount to spend on yourself in a month to look "presentable"?
For example, I only get my hair cut once every six months (I used to get my hubby to trim it for me even!) and coloured about once a year, so in that case the cost of getting my hair done monthly would amount to about $24 for instance. I do my own nails, epilating and can handle being white but occasionally splash out on a $20 bottle of fake tan, don't have a handbag or shoe fetish (unless you count motorcycle boots) and probably spend on average about $80 on clothes a month, not too much considering some women wouldn't be seen dead in anything that didn't have the appropriate label and price tag to match.
How about you gals/guys? What are your maintenance costs? Would you consider yourself high or low maintenance?

Hmm.... Think I might be "average" maintenance!

    Well, I spend:

    $38 fortnight on the gym
$25 haircut once a year max.
$10 max on shampoo and conditioner a month. I only buy the stuff on sale.

I go to the gym so that I dont have to buy new clothes next season, though on average I would replace some work clothes every 2nd year. I only buy 2 pairs of shoes max a year for owrk and they're always the cheapest pair at #1 shoe warehouse. I only replace these when the others are so broken that I can not wear them. I live in my jandals, doc martins and sneakers when im not riding.
I buy the cheapest pack of razors and use budget shaving cream - it works fine! Helath basics moisturiser on special costs less than $5 and it works fine.

I dont have an image to keep up so I dont ahve to buy fancy clothes, I always try and buy clothes that will last multiple seasons. I hate this fucken 80's craze ATM, it was bad enough being made to wear them when I was younger!
So yeah, all my money goes on bikes and booze.

I would hate to think how much I spend on bikes, racing and engines though!!

Hi my name is Tina and I am an ex-high maintenance girl

Used to have six weekly hairdresser visits that cost an average of about $120 per visit....I get bored very quickly with the colour of my hair!! Now that I have gone to the darker side I just buy a colour from the supermarket/chemist and do it myself so about $20 every third month.

Gym membership has not changed $750-$799 per year….I have a love/hate relationship with the gym! I have to go to the gym so that I can carry on eating KFC!!

Clothes are my weakness ….. I wouldn’t have battered an eyelash at purchasing a $89 T-shirt. Yes I am a label basher! But now that I own a bike and house my priorities, or should that be spending ability, have changed considerably. I can’t remember the last time I had a retail therapy session though

The last couple of months I have been getting a lot of flack from work re: noisy/too long/too baggy pants so I may have to go shopping. Will probably spend about $30 - $50 on a pair of pants …used to spend $80 - $180.

Make up was also a weakness….I have oodles of lipstick and eyeliner and eyeshadow that I have purchased and worn only a couple of times. I used to buy Lancome foundation at $79 a pop every two months!! Now it is probably closer to $40 every two months.

Nails? nup....never really got into that. When I do put nail polish on (in a rare girlie moment) I feel like my nails are suffocating so I pick it off

Not a shoe type of girl at all, and like Str8 Jacket I only buy a pair for work from #1 Shoe Warehouse and I too only replace when broken. I do love sneakers/skate shoes, my feet HAVE to be comfy. Every time I have worn heels I have fallen over I don’t own a handbag and I never will!!!

Hmmm I go to the gym $18 a week

    Whatever shampoo/conditioner on sale

I do spend whatever on skin care, although it usually lasts 6 months. I tend to get my mum to buy make-up/perfume for birthday/xmas when she goes overseas

I don't buy clothes that often, but op shops/outlets are my favourite, no.1 shoes is also good. I don't mind wearing second hand clothes, some of the best dressed people I know do and others that spend thousands don't look that good in my opinion.

I don't get my hair cut that often either...probably 4-6 months, I usually get rather bored with my hair colour so I dye it alot, I have taken to using packet because I do it about every 2 months. But they are usually only $15

I like to think of myself as 'english rose' - 5 years in Dunedin has ruined any colour I may have had, so I just don't bother. Melanoma is also a big deterrant for me

God there is so much .... ok

$2000 for two years gym membership up front ... one off

$60 every 5 weeks for hair (I like to keep it short)

$20 for dying hair prolly every 2-3 months plus $20 tip for whoever wants to do it for me.

$100-200 every six to nine months on shoes for work etc

Clothes are on an as needed basis .. but last year prolly $1000 ish - I don't do lables but at my size I still like good gears. This includes new motorcycle stuff and I wear lots of free work t-shirts

My sis-inlaw and family bought me a voucher for the east day spa - yesterday I had a manicure and pedicure for $170 (it was great but not something I would do again cos fark me thats like 4 gas ups on the bike at least)

I do go and do waxing .. but not if the body is playing up ... so veet works at $16 every few weeks ...

and prolly other stuff that I am ignoring at the moment.

I actually consider myself medium maintenance ... there are loads of people way worse than me ... and way better!

Oh god - I am totally high maintenance. Funnily enough we were talking about this on the trip to Manfield over the weekend. My male friend was shocked!!!

    $32 - fortnightly nails
    $80 - monthly brazillian
    $20 - monthly leg wax
    $20 - monthly underarm wax
    $8 - monthly eyebrow wax
$8 - monthy top lip wax
$180 - 6 weekly hair colour and cut

This is not counting shopping, facials and other things I do to feel 'pretty'!

Eeeeek, oh well, it's my money so I guess a girl will have it a girl will spend it ha

Well so far I'd say we're all pretty low maintenance! (apart from prettybillie.... why not eh chick!!)
I did forgot a couple of things however.... I buy expensive hair products, but I am sure that because I use "good stuff" ie. salon only products, that my hair stays in pretty good condition and therefore doesn't need cutting and colouring so often.
I also buy good quality skin care products, you only get one face, zits are not that nice to look at and once you have wrinkles they're hard to get rid of!! I don't wear make-up very often, but the make-up I buy is again good quality, don't want to go out looking like a cheap hooker!!!

I don't know bout high maintenance ....just hairy by the sounds! Just joking hun!

Feck....I am starting to think I have gone the complete opposite. I don't buy any expensive face creams or cleansers anymore! Protex soap washes off make-up just fine and keeps break-outs at bay.

Bleh, I gave up on makeup as soon as I started riding. Do get flack for it sometimes as I deal with vendors so much. The way I see it; if im ugly without make up then im only going to enhance my ugliness by wearing it!

I'v never been that high maintenence. I'v taken on a monthly brazillian waxing ($50), but other than that, i don't use enuf of any beauty product to give a weekly or monthly cost. I found out guys love a girl to look naturally beautiful. So ditch the creams, make-up and over-priced lotions. That being said though, i go nowhere without my eyeliner. Besides, that way when there is a special occasion and you decide to doll up, the men you know will TRULY be drooling after you. My man hated me wearing makeup all the time, so i stoped, then new years came around, i got dolled up, and as his mate said 'a deer caught in the headlights'. LOL
