Feminine hygiene products have not been mentioned either, now if there ever was a captive market those manufacturers have it. What a friggen crock of shit those prices are!

I am lucky and dont need them, but, just bought a pack of "just in case" sanitary pads to keep in the bathroom for the may get a period anytime daughter and about shit when I saw the price

    Which tooth was it?

If it was a molar, no sympathy. I had one pulled a couple years ago for all of $160, and the gap's not visible and never gives me any trouble. You pays your money and you takes your choices. (They tried to sell me a $5,000 implant to go in the gap. I roffled, and pointed out that I could just chew on the other side.)

Of course, if it was a front tooth, $2,500 was worthwhile to avoid having to move to Wainuiomata.

Although a front gap's a great place to tuck a durry. Could come in useful!

Then again, to quote the old adage, you haven't caught the bus yet... best you keep running, eh?

I'm real new to this so somebody tell me if I'm doing this wrong...
I used to wax but a recent budget required a downgrade to waxing myself or shaving and surprisingly either works for me. Never been a big makeup gal but can't leave the house without mascara - occasionally splash out on a lash tint if I have an overnight rally/trip so that I don't wakeup with panda eyes. I do have a salon cut every six weeks and my husband used to help me dye my hair with a supermarket colour - but alas he has buggered off. So I think I'll have to start getting my girl friends together for a night in every five weeks to dye each other's roots.

Trudes, I love your LOTR animation

    Low maintenance I reckon...

Get my sister to cut my hair.
Colour it maybe once a year when I feel like a change and can be bothered, with $20 dye from supermarket.

Don't wear makeup. Don't wear perfume (was given some at Xmas by grandma who wants me to be more sophisticated!). Don't do my nails, or anything girly really.

I receive moisturiser as gifts at a rate faster than I use it. If I do need to buy something I'd rather get something good and use it less, though.
Currently washing with cheapish body soap from supermarket. Will replace it with something nicer, but I still use it sparingly.
Deodorant lasts me a while, I do use it though!!
Generally use just shampoo, or 2in1, about once a week. Don't go through that too fast either.

No wax/anything. Maybe a razor blade every year or so!?

Use a mooncup (got it for Xmas!), so no more 'sanitary' costs.

I do quite like clothes though, and have a tendency to pay for quality (but not branding) for items that need it, and happy to go cheapo for things that don't matter so much. I don't do fashion or seasonal shopping though, so it's not like I have to buy much.

Shoes I go for quality but I wear until they break or leak or whatever. Don't do heels. If I want something pretty I'll go for supercheap at #1 shoe warehouse, 'cause I know I won't wear them enough to make it worth it ! (Though I have worn some pretty cheap boots to death and beyond.)

Can't think of anything else I could do but don't!! Oh, never had a facial or anything weird like that. (Um, not a facial treatment.)

Do it. If he had more hair he'd be using a hairdresser and racking up that expense. Though if you want a cheaper do we got a set of clippers..only got the #1 comb though

Thank god for Depo Provera. I haven't had to bother with that nasty lady thing for years and although my bone density might be deteriorating at a rapid pace the freedom from that whole palava is soooooo good

Mmmme too...exactly what I thought at first

As for upkeep of this old girl.

    $37 monthly for kickboxing.
Haircut every 6 or 7 months...any more and the mop grows too damn fast.
Perfumes - love them! But given I can't justify the expense of the ones I like I generally just hang out for my birthday and hint like mad.
Creams and lotions - have sensitive skin so tend to try to avoid putting anything on my skin as it just reacts. Face - plain old Nivea tinted SPF moisturizer...lasts ages though as any time I am going on the bike I don't put anything on my face...as I ride every day that means I don't put it on much.
Did spend $60 on a foundation for 'work' but well any time I put makeup on I feel like my skin is suffocating and it just feels like I am wearing a mask.
My money is generally spent on my little boys maintenance. I just love buying him cool digs and new shoes etc..and his clothes always look good on him...me I am picky and HATE buying clothes. Love op shopping though - some of the coolest items I own came from op shops AND I find it hilarious when little Miss Policy Analyst in her plain as fuck and boring to boot, white shirt, grey skirt (from Que, or Kirks or wherever) and plain black heels at a total outfit pricetag of around $300 compliments me on my $20-30 one from the op shop

I hate spending money on work clothes and can't be arsed with having a draw full of expensive potions that I wouldn't end up using....I would much rather buy a brand new pair of good jeans frankly.

hmmmm, I think it's more of a personal guilt thing as I'm sure he doesn't mind if I spend $500 odd on my hair a year.
    I don't mind..............
