Hey guys. New Wellington 250 club?

Heya going guys. Im looking at starting a new club here in welly and I don't want to hear that theres already one.

Basically I alongside a guy called Darren used to organise the club 250 rides here win wellywood. Due to bad juju and people being rediculous with speed we gave it away.

What I am wanting to start is a 250!!!! cc club again. mainly to help beginners get confidence up and learn about riding, bike maintaince and getting people of the same skill level together so people arent rushing off ahead and others are pushing themselves to keep up.

If your keen reply or pm me whatever works for you and we'll get something up and going.

    WELLINGTON Club

is anyone out there interested in a wellington and surrounding suburbs club that is purely for beginners? Nice rides, social gatherings and learn how to ride and maintain your bike.
If so reply or PM me and we will get something up and going properly, safely and best of all we will all have a good time.

    EDIT:
    TIME: 3:30 on SATURDAY 17th Jan 2009.
PLACE: The rest.layby area on grays road. anyone unsure of where that is can meet at the riverbank carpark at the hutt at 2:30 ready to leave by 2:45 and follow us over.

PM me if you want to know more about the club.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

    Keeping up to date.

Looks like the first meet will be a SATURDAY in the next few weeks.
Looks like the meeting place is gonna be the lay-by area in oh and had my L plate for 2 days and again on restriced day. so thats a no PAUATAHANUI. for those of you from the Hutt upper and lower and petone this is:
Head over Haywards, go down greys rd and the layby is on the left, heaps of parking space for atleast 200 of us.

For the wellywoods and porirua/tawa/jville goers amongst us:
head for kapiti, turn right and head for greys rd at the traffic lights past the BP/mcD's combo. then obviously lay-by will be on the right after the bays.

    Will load map soon.

    POINT OF FIRST MEET>
1)get peoples details and record these so we know whos who where and so forth and will help us compile a mailing list and in case of an accident (should the very unlikely situation arise) we know any special needs you may have and who to contact should it ever come to that.
2)People will meet one another and you will get comfortable with the people that share your passion and will be riding with.
Trust is a very big part of this as you will all be agreeing to some rules.
3)to arrange times for first ride and for first bike maintaince lesson/social gathering.

Hope to see you all and dates/times will be put up very soon.

    HI there Guys and Gals.

If you drive/ride over the haywards hill (the one off to your left as you go from lower to upper hutt) then it takes you past a golf course and up to a large roundabout.
You veer right (dont take the first exit) at this round about and that starts to take you over the paekakariki hill. BUT before it does you turn left onto grays rd. then drive round the bays until you see the LAY BY AREA. its huge and has public toilets and tons of car parks etc. If you wish (and your local to the hutt valley) meet at the riverbank car park at 2:30 and follow us/one another over there.

Please let me know if we are still unsure of how to get to grays road.

look forward to seeing you all there. the pms & emails are pouring in so its gonna be a big turn out.

Absolutely. I will be coming down hard on people with bigger bikes that take off and encourage silly behaviour. refrain from that and all will be good. The boys with bigger bikes can often help with letting the others know just how different a big bike can be, most learners seem to think it just goes faster and the wight difference is minimal, so having people there to explain just how different it is will be a good thing.

And no the busa wont be coming on any of the rides for a good long time, we've got a Aquila 250 that I myself will be showing up on. And it will be 2 up.

Taking off ahead - nah not me...if I do it'll be to go home.

As for NO silly behaviour?...I can't promise that but I am a sensible road rider

Hiya, if the weather's dodgy, is there a call made as to whether the 250 ride will go ahead or not? I am assuming it would be via this discussion thread? Cheers DJ

Yep for sure. dont think there will be a ride on sat given it'll be 4 before i have finished my rant so... but yes getting there will be dodgy.
best to check here on sat morning/midday and we'll say yay or nay.
Again I need to stress that if you dont want to hit the haywards on bikes guys take your car by all means or let us know and we'll pick you up.
also dont forget for people looking at the map going WTF? meet at the riverbank carpark in lower hutt at 2:30 and follow one another over please, im not keen chasing you up the country if you somehow ride past the stop.
