Location of incident: North western motorway
Incident type: Pursuit
The north western motorway has been closed west bound at St Lukes and Pt Chevalier. City bound at Newton Rd, Port link and Sh1/SH16 interchange, due to pursuit. The motorway will be closed indefinately and you will be updated shortly.

Bad choice.It said there were reports the incident began when a man tried to steal a handbag. He was then said to have got into a car and driven off.

The motorway is flowing freely in both directions at the moment.

Sh 16 is west bound closed, no traffic is moving, auckland city is now a carpark! Southern motorway north bound south of the city is aslo buggered because of this.

Apparently it was an innocent motorist that was shot. Probably the driver of the car the guy was trying to hijack.
