the only choices on the list were, Zeppelin, Floyd, Cream and The Who (my ordering), primarily as they're the only ones that really exprimented with other culturistic styles of music... the rest, or at leat 90% of the rest went for the head bangin mainstream market of rock!!! but that's just my opinion
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

I have much love for rock bands. Floyd, AC/DC and the like, however for me the deciding factor to become my favorite was the band that got me into rock in the first place. Warlock with the incredible Doro Pesch lead vocals.

    enjoy...
I wouldn’t be broke if the voices in my head paid rent

Doro belongs ranked up their with the greats, The power and sound of her voice is just stunning. Blows me away every time I track down something so far undiscovered (to me) on Youtube.

Plus I have lusted after her since I first seen that "All we are" video many years ago.

I'm pretty certain she would have been mine if I had just managed to get within stalking distance.

    Rush is a good choice.

I'm surprised you left Thin Lizzy off the list though.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Rush. Thin Lizzy.

Put the two together you've got Coheed and Cambria - one of my favourites.

Apologies for static video but the song rules. Picture Thin Lizzy with Geddy Lee singing.

Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters on drums for this track.

Queen tick all the boxes: a significant number of great albums, have one of the most famous guitar rock solos, sporting anthems, movie soundtracks, great live band, transferable musical talent across various music styles... etc etc etc..

Oh, and they were highly educated and intelligent. Although it relavancy is questionable in this threads context.

If there wasn't the homosexuality associated with the group, they would've buried the rest.

    They bury them anyway.

Yeah it's tricky building the perfect list. I was just listening to the Drive-By Truckers live version of the Stones' Moonlight Mile and thinking what a brilliant songwriter and guitarist Mick Taylor was back then. They should never have let him leave...
