MOTOXNUT I havnt run it but the farm manager assures me it is doable in summer as his staff drive across it twise a week buy hilux. He can arange for the gates to be unlocked at both ends for Me .
It is a papa track so I wont try it in the wet solo.
Life shouldnt end at the grave well presented but rather, slide in sideways totally worn out yelling "shit that was a great ride!"
Mark - definitely interested in your ride - keen to use the 1150.Having done both Fishers and 42nd Traverse on a DR, I'd be a reluctant starter for those two tracks on the 'pig' (as leven fiddys are affectionately referred by the YAnks on ADV)........ so in the event I came along I'd be looking to do alternative routes as suggested earlier in this thread. Cheers Aslan

You's fullahs settled on a date yet ?
I got my leave pass sorted, just need to book the ferry
Mark, I voted for the April dates but could do either probably with enough notice.
Looks like it should be a good adventure! Will be a bit of a trek on the KLX but sure looks worth it mate!
Cheers, Dave
Southern Men and Women - needing a bed in Lower Hutt (either coming or going) sing out (via PM once the event date is dertermined) - can prolly offer a bed to 2 -3

Date confirmed as 25/26 April
Anzac weekend.
I have updated the first post and will put this up on the calender in the next few days.
I will also start a new thread wth the correct date on it and more details as they come to hand
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time
Hi Stephen, all of day 1 will be big bike friendly with any type of tyres.
I am doing some more scouting rides down that way over the next few weeks so i am sure i can come up with some alternative routes for the sunday if anyone does not want to do the 42nd or Fishers
A little rain a few days before hand would make things interesting
however last weekends southern coast ride proved that with enough help
you can get even a bus ( read BMW 1150 ) through almost anywhere and thats what makes it an Adventure ride
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time
Sweet. Will work on plan, ferry tickets, and panniers more this weekend. El Scooto (my bro who isnt near a puter much) is interested as well but no commitment yet.
Cheers R

if you foreign fellas could get up to Welly on Thurs night so that you had all day Friday to travel then the adventure could start around about Ashurst - might even have time to duck up Takapari Rd
from there to Ohakune you would hardly see any seal
Apparently you can get from Ruarimu to SH43 via some interesting roads. You could easily have a very full day getting to Otorohnga
If I go (I plan to) I will do this route on Friday regardless
We'll still be in Australia so won't be able to make it
The road to hell is paved...
