Latest test by the well repected british magaznie-BIKE:

    BMW

    Massive gap

    Honda
    Suzuki/Kawasaki
    Aprillia
    R1

Yet to ride either the BMW or Aprillia, but the order on the japanese bikes sounds right. R1 is the worst, Honda the best and GSXR/ZXR somewhere in between.

But as soon as you see the ugly German thing head on the gap to the rest narrows considerably.....

    Hello.

A few photos of the RR if anyones interested. It's in the bike shop I frequent. Sorry for the poor angles as there isn't a great deal of space between the bikes.

I'm surprised the RSV-R came so low down. Has had rave reviews elsewhere (when it wasn't exploding anyway), though it's been mainly tested on its own. Maybe it was just too impractical for the road.

But when you factor value for money into the equation....the stakes change.

Interesting there's no 1198 in the mix...but then you would have to take money out of the equation...

Best bang for buck on the market would be a GSXR750. A vastly underated bike.

Here's the YouTube link to the MCN Road/Dyno test

BMW, RI, ZX10, Gixxer, Blade. Pretty light on details, but a definitive result for the Beemer again...

Now I couldn't agree with you more...

    Bollocks.

I love my job but shit dog, that has got to mean no Monday-itis at the office at the start of every week.

I must say, the BMW looks soooo much better in Red/White/Blue - and as for the 'Blade - that really looks the shizzle in Red/Silver.

The best 1000cc Sprotbike for 2010, and we are only in February!

Once again, no show from Ducati...interesting. (But I guess the Aprilia and others more noticeable by their absence also).

Dam, at that price I'm interested. Should make the change-over minimal - yeah right, I wish!

Yes, everybody needs 170 plus hp to cruise at 140 km/h with 5% throttle.

Makes it much more scary when you see it in action rather than ride 'round oblivious to the abuse being handed out (bugger if backyard bertie gets the timing out...). Makes you realise why pneumatics have been introduced though.
