    Physically 60 - Mentally 16...

Yer well I couldn't resist eh....

Returning from the morning ride and just out back of Cambridge I pass two young lads waiting for the school bus...approaching at a moderate pace (as befits a grampa) despite being a 100 k zone...see the young lads look up at the approach of the bike - expectation all over their faces...well, shame to disappoint eh? dropped down a coupla cogs and cranked it, blasting past with engine roaring up the rev range...hehehe...the faces were worth it I can tell you, as was the wave....
FFS, grampa when ya gonna grow up eh???

    Huh.
Generally, teenagers of that age are too 'cool' to acknowledge other yuman beans. I like the reaction of really small kids, who are too young to care about what other people think. They're fascinated by bikes, whereas once they're of a school age, they start to lose interest.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Had that happen yesterday. Was stopped at the lights and a mum and little boy crossed...young lad couldn't take his eyes off the bike - ended up walking backwards once they had passed me....he looked up at me to see if I was "tame" or not...gave him the big smile (which he prolly couldn't see under the helmet) and the wave...his face lit up like a beacon - big smile back...

Our 1 year old son is already bike mad - we were having lunch in a cafe the other day and he spies a large touring bike outside, GW or similar, couldn't take his eyes off it. Hubby takes him outside for a look just as the rider and his lady were saddling up. They give him a big wave and a smile, good on them!

My 2.5yr old grandson is the same. Calls me "papa bike"...loves to sit on the SV specially if I start it up.....
He has a little plastic motorbike scoot along thingy of his own. He drags it across the park (it's nearly as big as him) and up the hill...then gets on, pushes it over the crest of the hill and screams down the slope, laughing hysterically all the way. If it tips over and he crashes down the hill on his bum or head or whatever, he just laughs louder...I shudder to think what he will be like in 15 years time......

A workmate of mine had to drive around the carpark the other day so her little boy could "see the big blue bike!"

    Good on Ya!

Funny how nobody ever told us that as you age your emotions and self-image age stay the same. May be older outside, but inside still in the late teens!

There are two 6 or 7 yo's that live down our road and sometimes when we take the dirt bikes out they come out and stand there and have a good looksi and smile and wave like 6 yo's do
And another time when I was just bored and riding up and down the road, country road during the day no one around, they came out and had a look so I popped the big wheelie past them and went home, never saw the looks on their face

plus two strokes sound much cooler
we may just go where no ones been
