    Tinted visors?

Hi guys..I had bought a tinted blue visor (nitro brand for nitro helmet) about 2 months ago. The problem is that the tinting has fadded a little. I can now see a little bit of my face when I look through the helmet in a mirror, before I couldn't. Its only 2 months old so should I take it back or is this a normal thing that happens to tinted visors?

    Please help........

Would think its possibly more to do with the light than fading visor.

So did I. But I am quite sure it has faded a little bit. When I check my side mirrors I normally couldn't see my face but now I am able to.
If I get a tinted visor cleaning kit will it make it any better.....??

    Thanks

fading in 2 months seems quite quick... what are you cleaning it with??

maybe you a wiping it clearer....

or it is just the difference in the direction of light through the visor

You sure your mirrors are any use for checking behind you?

Umm why are you looking at your face rather than whats behind you?

Go out for a ride at dusk and collect alot of bugs and other debris, that should help obscure your face a little more. OR ask the shop you bought it from what the story is.

I have a nitro helmet and I went to their main site and there is a tinted visor cleaning kit.
I clean my visor with warm water and a cloth after almost every ride. It gets quite dirty with finger marks and dust with the odd bug or two.

Surely the point of a tinted visor is to cut out the glare of a clear one, rather than try to hide your face?

Both my partner and i have tinted visors and clean them with warm soaky water and a soft cloth after every ride too, Ours haven't faded or anything and we have had ours for ages.

I'd be going back to where you got it and be saying.....WTF!

They aint cheap and should last longer than 2 months

Well before posting this topic I had gone to my yamaha dealer (I get all my stuff from there) to see if he had a cleaning kit because thats when I started to notice the fading. He didnt have any and said cleaning with soapy water will work (which I do after every ride). Now just a few days ago I went to the suzuki bike dealer to see if he had a cleaning kit. He did but asked my what I normally clean my visor with. I said to him I also feel my visor is fading but its only 2 months old. He asked me how much it was for and I said $60 (this is a proper nitro visor). Then he said something very shocking (shocking to me anyway), he said thats a cheap visor and it has a very thin coat. He then said a good one would cost $180! I will go to the yamaha dealer and see what he has to say. The only problem is that the blue tint is still there but has faded around the front. So I dont know if he will exchange it.
