    Potty Phelps

This guys has devoted his life to sport, got up early and trained each day...is he not allowed some time to relax...I mean is drinking any different?

Funny how a minor indiscretion overides the greater good that he has achieved...I wonder what kids really think? Possibly still striving to be like Phelps...hey he is human...he is still a role model.

The Media...they are the ones that set the bad example...trying to stitch up a world class athelete who has given up his 'normal' life for sport...

    Just my view...others invited

    Storm in a teacup.

He won his swimming races fair and square. I don't really see why any other part of his life is relevant to anyone.

George Bush and Bill Clinton both smoked a bit of pot in the past, it's not like they got 'suspended' from being president for doing so.

It isn't like it enhanced his swimming ability. Surely it would be detrimental to his lung/oxygen capacity?

He might have been able to win a few more medals if he hadn't had a bit of a puff occasionally... and not been such a fat bastard after getting the munchies and pigging out!

It's only a three month ban, is it not?

I see both sides but one has to consider the powers that be, have to be seen to do something, otherwise it could be seen as an acceptable thing to do.

The only thing he did wrong, was he got caught, lol...

Meh. Even POTUS admits to being a stoner now.

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I'm young and impressionable. I'm going to swim professionally and smoke weed like Michael Phleps!
Couldn't he have done something that doesn't tar up his lungs? Seems kind of stupid for a pro athlete

Meh, the air he breathes driving through town in traffic to and from the pool each day will be tarring up his lungs an order of magnitude more than toking on a bong at parties once every few months would.
