    Fashions inspired by bike gear

The other day someone on KB posted a link to some crazy fur & sequinned helmets being modelled on the catwalk at a fashion show. (I will find the link again in a minute.) I have noticed recently that bike gear seems to be inspiring a few designers - perhaps spurred by the renewed popularity of bikes and scooters.

Of course in the 1950s the teddy-boy look encouraged people to wear boots & leather jackets around the place so it's not at all new. Just interesting.

Here's a pic of some jeans featuring "micro-pleats" from French fashion house Balmain. Remind you of anything?

    te he he

When we went on a ride on Sunday I was wearing an old males leather jacket that I've decorated with a big butterfly patch on the back and lots of reflective strip. By the time I'd got all gussied up with my 3/4's on and Doc M's my hubby declared that I looked like a throw-back to the 70's or 80's!

Ontop o' that, some of the old biddies where we had stopped for lunch were giving me the right old "up & down's" and I wasn't even wearing the jacket !!

Just as long as Wham doesnt make a come-back also...

That 'hole in the knee' look fashioned by Joe Elliot (Def Lepard) ?
We had that going on years before....all carpet layers that wore jeans did!
Rips and tears in the knee area, with cotton strands hanging down, yeah we were ahead of our time in the fashion stakes!!

I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

LOL! When you work out how to wear something like that in public without looking too smutty, please let me know!
