Best place to stay for Taupo Trackdays

I'm looking at doing two Taupo trackdays, Fri 27th and Sat 28th with Redline and Motott respectively

Any recommendations on a good (cheapish) place to stay that is trailer friendly.

Most likely head down on Thursday after work so will need somewhere that I can checkin fairly late.

Can you camp at the track? De Bretts is good and you get to use the pools.

Why dont you try any back packers in Taupo as they are usual fairly cheap to stay at and by staying somewhere cheap means that you can put more fuel in your tank to do more laps of the track. Lake Taupo Top 10 Holiday Park which is in Spa Road which isnt far from the race track have standard cabins from $70 and sites from $18. Just type in on your computer accomadation in Taupo and take it from there. Goodluck with your search and have fun on the track. Cheers.

Mate & me are doing this Fri with MotoTT & Sun with Kiwitrackday. Booked in at Rainbow Lodge backpackers. Stayed there before. Secure off street parking. Gates are locked at 10.00pm & need a code to get in. Have a twin room with on-suite for $58.00 so only 426 each. Can get cheaper rooms without on-suite. Just off Spa road, 5 minutes walk to centre of town & about 10 minutes to the track.

Always good. Good facilities. Suitable for trailers.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Yeah would have stayed fri/sat night normally, but we have a function to attend on sat night in wellington, so i'm gonna be doing the hard yards and trucking back home fri night and up again on the sunday lol
Guess all the line haul experience i've done makes it seem easy, but if it wasn't a close relative and an appearance is called for, i'd prolly be at ruapuna this weekend doing the sound of thunder anyway, (but couldn't see me being able to pull that off, with making an appearance as well lol !)

Have you tried Camellia court in tonga st ? I used to get a motel room there for 80 quid, but i hear the cabins are only 40 notes a night ! Looks like it could be a bit damp there on sat night !!
