Ah right, well, you first will need to rip the DVD to a video file, then use editing software (like movie maker) to edit the video down to show only what you want and then resize it so that it will fit youtube perfectly and upload fast.
    Basically. :P
I'm not sure what you would use to rip haven't done that in a long time.

I know exactly what top do , i have many videos on youtube.
1 - first upload the vid onto your computor, and put it on movies maker via ripping a dvd
2 - On youtube they dont allow movie maker files so once youve saved your vid on movie maker click "publish to computor" therefore it becomes a wmv file which is windows media player and select the size the pixels and what not
3-you can put the wmv file or windows media vid up on youtube, you will have noticed that if you try putting a windows movie maker file on youtube it will be invalid and not show the video. i hope this helps you can pm me on any technical problems you have with the video.

    In all seriousness though.

    1) Use AutoGK to rip the DVD.

YouTube videos can be no longer than 10 mins on a standard account. So you'll need to get what you want out of the DVD.

You'll need video editing software to do that. Adobe Premiere Pro is what I've used but that's far from free.
