Where do sick powertools go to get well?

I went to use my 40 year old skill saw yesterday and discovered that the insulation on the power cable has perished and crumbled off in places exposing bare wires, which may or may not be why it doesn't seem to be working now. Where does one take powertools to get them repaired?

The Powertool Centre. But they'll probably just try to sell you a new one.
You could replace it yourself - cords are easy.
I've had to repair or replace mine twice.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Funny you should say that. I just threw some tools out this weekend with minor defects. It wasn't worth getting them looked at.

Thanks guys, hopefully it is just the power cable and it hasn't died of old age. I'm sure I could get a much lighter modern one but $400 is a bit ouch!

the TOOLSHED are great to deal with..but for just a power cable...go to bunnings...get a two meter long heavy duty extention cable. chop the female end off...undo skill saw...and replace like with like in regard to the wires. its all that they will do.
