I've still got a Carpets shirt somewhere.. MOOOO!!

Carpets were shit live. Saw them with The High as support. They were a lot better.

I don't recall going to many concerts as such, this was (mainly)the sixties remember...

    Went to concerts by:
    Dave Brubeck
    The Beatles
Gerry & The Pacemakers, and just about every other citizen of Liverpool who could sing or play an instrument.
    Gene Pitney

    Yehudi Menuhin

    In more recent years:
    Little Feat and
    Carlos Santana

There were an awful lot of great blues bands and others in pubs though, some of which may have contributed to my tinitus.

I.... awww shit, forgot what i was gonna say !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

In no particular order, other than the order they come out of the box..

The Cardigans (Gran Turismo - Not bad. She was in her leather gear)
    Sarah McLachlan (Excellent)
Teenage Fanclub (About a dozen times, at least. Always excellent)
The Primitives (Followed round on a couple of tours. Standout gig the Barrel Organ, Digbeth)
Belle and Sebastian. (Pretty good. Saw them before Isobel left. No encore.)
The Wedding Present. (Not bad.. another one with no encore)
All About Eve (Lots of times. Standout in 2000 semi electric at the Union Chappell in London)
The WonderStuff (Lots of times. Best one the Astoria. Crappest when they had Voice of the Beehive as support. Utter crap)
EMF (before they were famous. Very good. And after famous.. not so good)
The Who (1996 Quadrophenia. Crap) And in 2000. Left early. Fucking rubbish..
    Depeche Mode. (Crap. Left early)
    The Farm (boring)
    The Mock Turtles (not bad.)
    Curve (Fucking excellent)
    The La's (crap
Carter USM (Senseless Things support. Only time I've seen a support cheered back on stage. Carter were 'ok'.)
Carter USM with Frank and Walters and PWEI. Excellent gig.
Beautiful South. (crap. for the 'blue' album. yawn..)
Suede (indifferent to the audience. boring)
Ned's Atomic Dustbin (heaps of times. Always good. Esp at JP's - home gig.
    The Railway Children. (yawn)
Transvision Vamp (popstars.. but not bad)
    Blur (boring..)
    Joan Armatrading. (Excellent.)
The Cure - Swing Tour (Excellent. Three hour gig. 20 years to the day since the Cure first went on the road).
The Cure (last year, here. Not so good. Crap venue.)
Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin. (Amazing)
Bic Runga. (Sometimes good.. sometimes a bit boring. She had a fabulous support when I saw her in Bristol. Scottish girl.. Astrid Williamson.)
Shakespear's Sister. (Greatest show I've ever seen)
Fine Young Cannibals (not the original line up. Still very very good.)
    Natalie Merchant (Excellent, if mental)
Beth Orton (Boring.. should have left the band at home)
    Dido (boring)
Iron Maiden (2006 at the NEC. Shit venue. Excellent gig)
New Order (On their farewell tour. Fucking amazing.)
    The Concretes (yawn.. left early)
    Lloyd Cole (excellent.)
PWEI. (Reformation. Fucking amazing. Definitely one of those 'be there' gigs)
    Smashing Pumpkins. (Rubbish)

There's others... but some of my old ticket stubs are in a box in the loft.

Never used to go to many concerts cos my hearing was so bad but -
George Thorogood at Wgtn town hall (F*ckin loud - I could hear everything with my hearing aid turned off)
After I got the cochlear implant and could hear again -
John Fogerty at the Wgtn events centre - loved every second of it.
Assorted bands performing at the Brass Monkey - most are pretty crap but Ted Clarks Backdoor Blues band were there in 1990 and they were good.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
