Well that was a lovely wee ride - out to Piha for brunch then on to Bethels Beach before heading home again. 9 riders so it was just the right size group.
I scared the crap out of myself early in the ride taking a few corners too fast (and in cruiser style) so my confidence plummeted for the rest of the ride until Bugjuice slowed down and led the way through the twisties. So apologies to Dveus who followed me for quite a while and had to put up with me crawling through some of the twisties or hard braking when I fucked up. I'll get there. I don't remember having the same problem when I went down 22 the other day - perhaps I was overtired from not going to bed until 2am.
Oh well, I'll just practice, practice, practice.

Short but sweet. My ride started badly getting stung twice by a wasp on the stomach, ouch. So I took it real easy from then on. Did some nice monos coming back into Henderson, they are getting better all the time. Highlight would have to be seeing Bugjuice do his first proper wheelie. Well done mate..

I was right behind you two when you were playing. Swanman you did a few good ones, and Bugjuice that was a good effort for your first one!!! I was having a good laugh at your antics and wished I had the courage to try one too! Glad Deaths tips got you both fired up!

You're definitely getting better. Looks mighty impressive from a spectator point of view. I thought they were quite an improvement from the ones u were doing on the way down to Paeroa. Would love to get some photos of those nice high wheelies

Nice to see BJ getting some action too.

Yes, you would have had the nice weather for it, too. Would have liked to be there, but... oh well.

Stop worrying about how fast you're not going, just think about taking nice lines and being smooth on the control inputs. And then one day you'll be surprised to notice that you're just cruising, but all the squids on R1s are somehow starting to ride slow and drop away in your mirrors...

Worrying slows you down. Chill and enjoy

    Riff Raff,
So it was you and dveus that I saw heading north between Manukau and Otara this morning? That stealthy black SVS was lookin' good Glad you had a good ride.

I was on my way to Waihi, also a good ride....

Was a good ride. Thanks for everyone's advice and tips and also thanks to bugjuice for organising it and stopping at turns to give directions.

BugJuice...i think you did a pretty good impression of a traffic cop directing traffic at a broken traffic light. Well done.

Highlight for me was going too fast round a corner and getting acquainted with the ditch. As I was going through the ditch I was thinking "I hope nobody sees me....how embarrassing." thenI look in my side mirror and see dat orange 636. Bugger.

After all that riding I'm definitely keen for a drink.

    Oooopse

Sorry to Death And Draco and the other rider (sorry bro didn't get your name).
    For leading you astray.
We turned off at Bethels rd BTW then when we realised you guy's weren't with us it was too late, turned round and tried to find you but didn't have a clue where you'd gone.
So did good old Gt North Rd and came home.
    Great ride anyway.
    Cheers
    Chris
