Was heaps of fun and hubby was pleased to have me outta the house. I think he liked the idea of going for bigger rides further down the line as the rugby highlights only just came on when I got home!

Will be nice to have you in the neighbourhood Monie!

Wot do you gals think of doing the Tapawera / Glenhope circuit on the Sun, 5th of April for our next sprint?

As I doubt there are many places to eat unless we choose another cafe redevous point, maybe a pot-luck picnic at Hope Saddle lookout?

By the looks on the online AA mapping the Tadmore valley Road and Tadmore Glenhope roads are completely sealed so we would do them and highway 6/61 loop.
Jackies bike is too nice to have rocks thrown at it so we best stick to tarseal.
Am sure you, Topo and whoever else is keen could do a short trip via dry weather gravel one other weekend perhaps?

Sorry to say but the Tadmore Glenhope Road (Dry weather Road) is part gravel & not as nice as the gravel the other day!! The Tadmore Valley Road is sealed tho

Would hate to see Jackie's lovely bike get damaged!

    I've been thinking . . . . my brain hurts now!

May be a trip up to St. Arnaud we would all meet at Kohatu Junction (by the old pub) then up Valley Road to Golden Downs (and for the adventurous types there is a gravel road on the otherside of the river to Valley Road which could be taken if wanted) then on to Kerrs Hill Road on to Korere Top House Road and on to St. Arnaud for lunch/drink then back either via Kawateri Jucntion or back up Korere Top House Road and continue on that road until you get back on to Kohatu Kawatiri Highway and then either go our separate ways at Kohatu or continue on to Wakefield for a drink?

So how is that for an idea?

Damn fine idea -was going to ask about Korere Tophouse Road meself re: gravel and steepness etc and was also just planning thoughts on petrol provisions for my completely tiny-tanked bike - but I'm all for it.
I'd prob like to come back via Kawatiri junction though - like the curves around Glenhope etc.

Sorry you had to hurt your brain.
Can't say I'm doin all that well at planning these things
Thanks for the help, Ms SUPER Topo !!

Don't worry my bike only has a tiny tank too, only 11 litres but it can do 200kms on that (that is including reserve ), I think if you fuel up at Wakefield then again at St Arnaud you should be all good to get you back to Wakefield again Korere Tophouse road is fine, if you like the Glenhope then you will be fine

Yea it was a good ride and nice to meet you all. See there's been a lot of discussion since I last came on here (is there a way of being notified by email when there are postings on here?). The 5th is fine with me.. gives my leg time to heal! I haven't looked at a map to check exactly which roads you're talking about but when I came from the West Coast to St Arnaud in Jan that road was lovely. Might be one of the ones you're talking about which would be great. Look forward to the final decision. Will then post it out to others not on PC etc. Looking forward to it.. wish summer wasn't ending :-(
