I agree with Shauns comments, mostly. And it is not lost on many that have sat and viewed these charades that irrespective of induction ( ram air effect doesnt happen until around 380mph ) Terry and Glen would still smoke the green bikes. Their SV650s also happen to handle a lot better because theyve put the time and money into doing so.

I'm not going to comment on who did what or who's protesting who, it's not my place and quite frankly, I don't give a toss.

What I will say is, a tech inspection took place, an investigation was held, a decision made, the respondents appeal the descision. That is how this system works, right?

So the outcome will not be influenced by anyone calling anyone else a cheating bastard, nor a bunch of people debating on a website who's a wingeing prick and who's not. Correct?

So why don't we all just wait for the powers that be to finalise their findings and the appeal and move on.

It's all about interpretation Plain and simple.

And sadly the interpretations of the interpretation can sometimes be interpreted differantly as well

My 2 cents worth..... protest away if you feel its a valid call but dont try to smear and bad mouth to get people on side. The rule is the ruling limiter.

With you definitely on that one Paul, this email circulating (and I haven't read it myself) sounds a bit off. There's no need for a campaign such as that.

The current set of rules specificallyrelating to f3 were written a bloody long time ago. near as I can see they have been added to over the years very much like a sticking plaster on top of a leaking sticking plaster every time a new bike --or type of bike becomes available.
Given the precedent set By Ozzy and his 450 tripple Im wondering how the rule book will be adjusted to accomodate the backyarders loooking at the tripple and thinking of destroked 600 4's or of building 450's from hondas or yamaha's. Then of course theres one person suggesting that 500 cc multi's should be legal. Think of all those 636 kwakkas that would suddenly be weapon of choice.
To my mind a set of rules surely should be written on the KISS principle so theres no room for interpretation. For example given that there are only 3/4 650 twins available then the specific Kawasaki/suzuki/hyusung --(maybee cagiva) part number should be quoted
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

Well now its official,Glen has most definitely secured the Championship for another year and he did it without the use of the much talked about "ram air system".Hard to believe that both him and Terry could beat everybody bar the Ozzy 450 convincingly as they were down by a massive 1.2hp from Manfeild.Watch this space,This is FAR from over.

Anyhow congratulation to Glen, he did it again! I wonder if next year he will be back on a 450 r6

Great effort Glen you where always going to be the guy to beat and there were a few strong contenders to take the title away from you.

Manfeild saw the Ozzy450 come from a great concept to a winning machine. The fiasco over the airbox on the SV650 could have been avoided completely if whoever made the decision had read the rules as written by MNZ before firing the loose cannon.

Only upside is your probably one the most scrutinized F3 champions with the extra checks performed at Puke so this should shut up any further speculators.

Next years nationals are looking very exciting with hopefully more 450 triples being built and piloted by riders of the caliber of Glen Scachill.

Re: 2009 NZ Formula three road race championship final result

Terry Fitzgerald and Glen Williams are pleased to advise that we have successfully appealed to the governing body (MNZ), against a claimed infringement of machine specification when competing at round four of the 2009 NZ road race championship.

The appeal was upheld and the original decision overturned on both counts of "The Technical aspect" and also "The infringement" . All lost championship points were reinstated and no penalty exists.

Terry and Glen would like to thank all of their supporters and expert witnesses that assisted in making this a successful appeal and also thank MNZ for conducting a fair and constructive enquiry into this matter.

We look forward to moving onto next years championship with a clear conscience and a newly invigorated commitment !

    Regards

    Glen Williams / Terry Fitzgerald
