    Jay Lawrence update

    Hi guys,

I thought I had best send you a quick update on how I am. I have just been to the Hospital yesterday to get another update and more x-rays. It looks like the collarbone is ok and normal, and seems to be healing well. The wound (from the footpeg breaking through my leathers) in my armpit on the same side as the collarbone is healing well with no infection, although the scar is very tight from where some flesh had to be cut away to clean it up. This means that at this point the scar is limiting my movement on the left side, not the collarbone. I'm hoping that this will loosen up as I can move it more, because I don't want to have to go back for a skin graft to expand it!

On the other side of my body, the break in my humerus is a bit more serious. Because it is so high up the bone (essentially the ball joint of my shoulder has broken off the bone) and the break is so far through the bone, the blood flow through the break has been comprimised so it is very slow to heal. Doctors say that I should be OK to ride a bike again in about three months. It seems like a long time, but I think that I will have plenty to think about in the meantime!

On the plus side, I have been driving the car again, so I just have to get my exitement from that for now!

Hopefully I will get back to you soon with some better news.

    Cheers,
    Jay Lawrence.

Nice to hear that you are healing well Jay (albeit slowly). Best wishes and look forward to seeing you out on the track before too long

Glad to hear you're on the mend Jay, keep up the good work. In the meantime keep your hand in it (not on it) and play some MotoGP games on the Xbox or PS!

Jay, all I can say is I hope this serves as lesson to you son. This is what you get for trying to be like me and Drew.

Mate .. that news was not too bad as it was ... you are healing well .. if not a little slow .. but hey thats not really new is it??? ... those tissue expanders are really cool .. if you want to speak to someone who has had it done give me a yell and i will get you in contact with my big sis ... she has a couple of them ... and it was amazing

Good to hear that things are healing up even if a little slower than you'd like. As you can drive the car make sure you also make up for lost time by giving that lady of yours lots of hugs
