Friend of mine is keen on getting this scooter Yamaha Cygnus X125 ($4600) so what is everybody's opinion on it, is it that much better then Suzuki AN125 or Suzuki UZ125.

I'd be running with one of the UZ if you he can still track one down. The Cygnus is ok, bigger, heavier and more cushy but not as good to ride... ride em both

I just bought one this weekend. It's an '07 with 1500km or so. I've ridden one before when I worked in Henderson Yam and was pretty impressed then, but did only go for a short ride. Now I've done a few longer rides, 35Km or so, I find it is not that comfortable, possibly because it's just a bit short in the seat to get comfy on the motorway. I like the way it gets going though, lots of finesse, and comfy when just zipping round at less than flat out. Underseat space is good and the brakes are amazing. I've tried grabbing a big handful of both and it's a lot like banging into something big and solid, without the broken bones. It's my first scooter and I'm still getting used to the handling differences but it handles OK and I've managed to touch something down on the left already. I have gone over it just checking things and it looks to be well made and put together with some nice detail. I haven't ridden the Suzuki scooters so can't comment on their performance but their build quality wasn't as good. The Cygnus is actually made in Belgarda, Italy if that makes any difference. Not sure where the Suzukis are made though I'm guessing China.
